This 30 inch by 96 inch HO scale diorama of Deadwood main street was constructed from the first and only known photo of main street Deadwood at that time. This diorama should be in Deadwood for viewing some time this summer and for many years to come. I spent some 19 months and 1300 hours scratch building everything, for the exception of windows, doors, wagons and people.  Sorry my donkey fell over i think the old guy got him drunk! Enjoy i will post more photos at another date.

Beautiful Work

Beautiful work Jack. Where in Deadwood will the diorama be displayed?

@ Jack

Interesting choice for the time frame. Only 10 days before Gen. Custer and his Cav. troopers were killed in Montana.

I love the display table! Love the whole scene, but the table really makes it jump.

"They Call the Wind Mariah"

Looks like a model of the movie set for "Paint Your Wagon" and makes you think you hear "They Call the Wind Mariah" from that classic old movie.  Very nice work.

Paint Your Wagon...

You're right -that does look a lot like No Name City.

I wonder if you can put tunnels in under the diorama?
