MRH Website general discussion
4x8 Alternatives
I started out building a 4x8 layout using a track layout package, senior twice around, I purchased from Atlas. I was a great learning experience and actually turned out pretty well. I built the table, did the wiring, put down the track, and built a great tunnel. Unfortunately, we moved and the table was too bulky to move with us. Besides, I wanted to use my experience from that table to build a better layout.

The value of "waste"
"Waste not want not." Many have heard this saying and many of us have heard how we shouldn't waste.....anything. It's bad for the ecology, bad for the wallet, and bad in general. What got me started on this musing about waste? It was the recent posting by E.G.Hall asking what's best to glue plastic to wood. See http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/11984 .

off-topic question about gluing
*** This is an off-topic question about gluing ***
I know this isn't technically train -related but my kid has a toy car, one of those large plastic tonka police car/trucks, that he absolutely loves and he's broken the back wheel off the axle. I tried gluing it back together with epoxy cement but it was only a few days before he broke it again... is there anything else I might try to fix this or is it history ?
Thanks
John
Image posting from an iPad?
Is there a way to post images from an iPad when replying to a topic or blog entry? I can see a button for "File attachments", but that's only available when creating a new entry; not replying to an existing one. And it looks like they can't be placed in the body of the post...
Is this something being considered for the website update?

What to do if the forum logs you out every time you change to a new webpage
Hi Guys,
I've been away for awhile and when I came home and logged onto the Recent Posts section of the forum it would force me to log in every time I opened a new page. Of course every time you log in it takes you back to Page 1 of the recent posts so I was back where I started. This meant I had no way of knowing which posts I had read as every time I clicked on a post to open it I would be forced to log in again.

Moving to Las Vegas
Hey Everyone,
I am having to come out of retirement and moving to Las Vegas for a year or two. My wife is staying in Reno for at least the first six months, bummer. But, I am hoping to meet some other model railroaders in Vegas, so is anyone on this great forum from Vegas?
