The Old Mill Model Tech Studio Background Kit Cast Cornices Bowed
Recently purchase the Model Tech Studio background kit The Old Mill. Have an issue with the 2 cast cornices that come with the kit - they are bowed - probably to the tune of about 1/2 inch. Any ideas on how to make them flat - not sure that glue will keep them flat when assembling them to the wall.

Possible to buy Precut spline strips??
Does anybody know of a source to purchase pre-cut wooden strips for roadbed splines? I've been using 1x4 (or whatever 1xNN I've had laying around) and ripping it myself into 1/4 inch strips... but it would be really nice if I could just skip that step and just buy strips that are already pre-cut... ideas??
Oh, perhaps I should also say that I'm in the Northern Virginia area, if that helps or matters.
Thanks
John

Attention MRH IT: Website performance lately has been poor
I thought that I was the only one; however, a number of people are having the same issues. Please see:

It's gotten so bad that I'm thinking about stopping accessing the site until it's fixed.

MRH & Google Chrome - "in the mud"
I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome to read MRH; however, recently it's "in the mud"; that is, it is very SLOW on some (not all) pages. I am not having this trouble when using IE or Firefox. Is anyone else having this problem? Some pages never come up at all!
***UPDATE***
I am having this trouble with other browsers. It's taking much longer to navigate the site than it used to. And yes, I've tried other computers - and no, it's not my network as all other websites are fine.

Bachmann S-2 frame + Atlas S-2 shell
I was wondering if anyone here has tried and/or had success with mating the old Atlas S-2/S4 shell to the new Bachmann ALCO S-2 fame w/sound? I know Atlas will be releasing a newly tooled S-unit with sound EVENTUALLY, but I have a line on both the Bachmann and Atlas engines NOW, and at good prices, but I also don't want to get stuck with them if the idea doesn't work. I don't mind putting in a little work (grind, file, cut) to fit them together, but I don't want to risk destroying them either, know what I mean?
Repacking Model Railroad Engine Boxes
Like a lot of other model railroaders I have a number of locomotives that need to be repacked in new boxes. I have a dozen or so boxes which over the years have been damaged by moisture and water damage. I did buy a couple of paper boxes from the local stationary store but they just look cheap.
Magnalock Brakelines?
I just got the email from MRH, they show and I see Pacific Western Rail is offering the air hoses thjat are exactly like Fairway Park's air hoses, even the instruction picture of the cutting of the hose is a dead on match for his set.
Does anyone know, did he sell his idea to them? I find it interesting they come out while he is trying to secure a manufacturer and distributor, and both are in Canada. I must say I am more intrigued with this idea every day. I like them.
