MRH Website general discussion

Email to individual

Is there a way to private email and individual that is on the forum or blog? I want to communicate with someone but do not want tie up the forum. Also sometimes one may have questions/discussion not for public or comment. I do not mean anything our of bounds just things the general public may not be interested in.

Thank you

Small shanties in Nscale

I build these Nscale shanties  ( extremely small) this week end.

These were a two evening project, they were fun to do.

One is a N scale Architect laser kit; I bought the other on Ebay as laser kit.

I lighted some with leds; the coal shed are all scratch build, they are spray and hand painted.

Black ink wash and pastels were used to wheathered them, coal is.....real hand crushed coal.

I have a question

I just replied to a post and when I went to post it I noticed I could only save or preview, not submit.  Oh oh.  I looked and I forgot to log in.  As I felt logging in would erase it I hit save.  I then logged in and now can't find where it saved to!  I should have copied and saved to Word but too late now.

Anybody know where I might find it?

Thanks,

Peter

Repairing threads broken by photobucket ransom images

As I research topics on the MRH forum, I'm increasingly running into threads full of Photobucket ransom images.

Can we request that you go back and repair these broken threads?

Please post the links to any bad threads you find here on this thread.

Railpro

Railpro - hmmm

I was excited and intrigued by the article in the October ed MRH that highlighted the features and functions of Ring's Railpro.  The article and videos made me think/re-think about my investment in the right tool(s) for my model railroad.   Currently, I am running DCC and have an open mind about making the change to Railpro.

What are your thoughts about the Railpro?

Can MRH be transferred to and read on a basic Kindle reader? If so, how? Thanks in advance for any help.

Victorian Goldfields Railway - Rare Double Header parallel departure

I was lucky enough to see a rare parallel departure from Castlemaine Station with one train set as a double haeder. This pair was bought up to Castlemaine as the Victorian Goldfeilds Railway (VGR) needed more motive power for the tourist trains they run between Maldon and Castlemaine over approximately 20kms (approx 13 mile) of track in the southern Australian state of Victoria and approximately 2 hours north of the capitol city Melbourne.

We Are Moving Too...sigh

I mentioned in an earlier post that my father-in-law had died a few months back. My wife has been spending a lot of time with her mom helping her clean up and sort things out and the 2 of them and I agreed that she needs to move in with us. Which means we need a bigger place. So we are moving again.

Good thing about it is I should be able to end up with a dedicated train room. So we know how much we can spend and how big of a place we need. Packing begins tomorrow and with any luck we will sell this place quick. The size is much in demand, so keeping our fingers crossed.

Hurricane Irma

Rick Wade, Michael Rose and all of you in Florida be safe and let us know ASAP after Irma how you are. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Shades of 1984 - What happened to the unhappy SCARM user / JMRI legal problems chain?

Was history just erased or rewritten? That happened quite often in Orwell's 1984 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four) and it looks like it might have happened here.
