Scenery and structures
My model
Here is the idea of my plastic American style, all the buildings are self-built by me, predicting a bit of cues from the network. I'm trying to make a small country in the Far West style with a touch of modern. Some might say, what's the weather? I asked how to make a military model, and I changed my mind. Because seeing many models made by all of you, I came up with the idea of doing as I said a small town with a railway connection.
I know it's small but I'm also doing it to train for a near future with may space.

Zip Texturing - Powder Tempera
Hey guys!
The recipe for the Zip Texturing and the Weathering Powders requires plaster and Powder Tempera. I wonder is there any perticular reason to use the Powder Tempera, and is there any alternative to use some other stuff instead? What is your experience?
Thank you very much,
Walther's Northern Light and Power Electrical question
Hey,
I'm planning on using a Walther's Northern Light and Power kit on my Illinois Terminal railroad to represent a "downtown" powerstation with a spur for coal delivery, probably late 1930's to early 1940's.
Cricut comes through again
Not bragging about what I have done, but do want to show other modelers what a cricut cutting machine can do. The proto bridge had the concrete "fence" on the top level. I could never have cut the elliptical holes by hand. Cricut did it simply. I also clad the structure, made of foam board and dimension lumber, with a concrete texture downloaded from textures.com. I printed out a sheet of the textures and then cricut cut and scored the pieces needed to cover the base materials.

1950’s hamburger drive-in in o scale
How about a burger and fries, maybe a shake with that?

Planting weeds along the river...
New here guys and wanted to jump in on what I am doing this week. I will add more images later

The Northern Pacific to Yellowstone Park.
I thought I would post this excellent modeling job.
The Northern Pacific used to run a train from Livingston, MT south to Gardiner, MT which is the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
This service ran until about 1955 when regular service was suspended but an occasional special stain would take tourists to the park. The railroad not only took tourists to visit the park, but also supplied the town of Gardiner, MT. Roads inproved and finally in the mid 50's vehicles traffic could do the job of the railroad.
Using photo textures to make concrete bridge.
I am about to try to make my first bridge -- a typical 50's concrete highway bridge. I have used Mindheim's system of using photos to make buildings -- I like the results.
But how to make the bridge -- whether I make it from balsa or styrene - to look like aged concrete? There are websites where you can get lots of good photos of aged concrete -https://www.textures.com/.

How to stop structures from glowing when lighted?
I have the Walther's Machine Shop underway, about ready to assemble the sides onto the base. I plan to LED light it along with most everything else I build in the future for the layout.
The problem I'm going to have to deal with is the glow through the styrene that occurs with lighted structures. A building that glows in the dark seems a bit unrelistic and counter productive.
Gluing problems
I'm trying to assemble a Walthers deck girder bridge. It's unpainted. For the life of me I cannot get the bottom bracing glued to the side girders. I've tried Plastruct Plastic Weld and ACC to the parts properly clamped together, but the joint won't stick and it comes apart. I mean, not even quasi-sticking together; I remove the clamps and the two pieces just come undone.
Any suggestions before I launch this kit out the window?
