Scenery and structures

How to create raised brick on structures?
How do you create raised brick features on scratchbuilt brick structures?
You can imagine things like arched windows with the arch extending out, 3-D cornices, and pilasters. I had to look up pilasters. They are the flat, vertical columns like those seen on Design Preservation Models.
One person here scribes the entire brick wall by hand. That seems a little much for my skills, perhaps just adding raised parts would work.
Other ideas? Thanks!
Cutting Basswood Sqare
A question for scratch building experts: Is there an easy way to cut small basswood strips (aprox 3/32 square) so the end cut is square? I am building trestle bents, and have used a NW Shortline chopper and a razor saw with a miter box (can only use box for 90 degree cuts) to cut the basswood to correct length. Neither method produces a good square cut so the joint is nice and tight, and filing the end square is tedious and not very accurate.

Scratchbuilt Shed - everyday materials!
Hey everyone,
I just finished building a small shed using matchstick's, paper and some foil. It was much easier than I thought and I think it looks pretty good, especially when you place scenic elements around it!
I managed to put together a short video on the construction:
I hope you like it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and write a comment.
Cheers

Please suggest trucks and cars for my railroad
Hi everyone.
I live in the UK so have difficulty buying all those little things that bring a layout to life. I have an account with M.B. Klein and order from them about 3 times a year (mainly because the shipping costs are very high so I try and group what I can).
I bought a cheap static grass applicator...
$30 what the heck. It is battery powered, but now I am thinking about making it a plug in and upgrading the ION generator.
Do you think it will make a big difference, or should I just stick with the set up the way it is?

Woodland Scenics N Scale Town and Factory Building Set?
I was wondering if anyone has purchased this or any of the individual kits from this set:
http://www.amazon.com/Woodland-Scenics-Scale-Factory-Building/dp/B0006KS...
The negative reviews are making me hesitant. I have a good chunk of Amazon credit built up that I would love to use on this expensive hobby. It'd cost about $67 out of pocket for the whole thing. Would you think that for the price that this is a good set to get regardless of the supposed negative aspects?
SP Signal Placement
What is the distance that SP used for search light signal from the track.
What distance should the signal/block be from a switch (for a passing siding etc...).
Mansion
I'm looking for a kit or two I can kitbash into a mansion. Model Power's Victorian would work, but are now impossible to find. Faller's Villa looks to be identical, but it's hard to find in The States. Are there any other structure options that would have a mansion-like quality (non-standard roof line, window/door ornamentation)?

I'm looking for some HO barbed wire.If it is available as fencing the height of the posts should be 5ft. or 6ft. if in the ground one foot. 4-5 strands would be good.
