Securing rail only to styrene

I am building an engine facility and I want my rails "buried" in the concrete. I will have a styrene base under the entire structure and the rails are to be laid on top of that base. What is the best way to attach just the rails to the styrene base?

Gluing down track question

I am building an N scale layout with Atlas code 80 flex track.

My question is:  When you glue the track down to the cork roadbed, what do you use to hold it down?  What do you use to hold it in place?

What do you do to hold the track in place around curves?

Thanks.

Shinohara #4 double crossover shorting

https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/34181

Is this correct? An auto lightbulb wired into this Shinohara double crossover makes it DCC friendly?

I can not quite tell where exactly the short occurs but it is somewhere near the diamond as the locomotive is trying to cross from track 1 over to track 2.

Consisting SoundTraxx and LokSound Equipped Locomotives

I currently have a mix of locomotives with SoundTraxx decoders (Econami and Tsunami) and LokSound Select.  The SoundTraxx decoders are set up to start the prime mover with function F5 and stop it with F6, while the F8 function mutes the sound.  The LokSounds use function F8 to start and stop, as well as mute.

I would like to make the start, stop and mute functions consistent between the two so that when I have a mixed consist I don't have to press a whole bunch of buttons just to stop and go.

What Track Nails For Hand Laid Track?

I am building a Free-Mo module and decided to try my hand at semi-hand laid track for a more prototypical look. I purchased Proto 87 "Fast & Easy" Rail & Ties. What track nails should I be looking for to spike the track down to cork? Thanks.

smart control panel

Hi All,

It can be interesting for everyone, who trying to build small control panel and do not want to spent long time with wiring.

I created intelligent modules called TheCube. Those modules are designed for easy building of smart control panels. Especially for small size ones.

Little problem is, that I'm from Europe, then my design is primary for Lenz LpressNet and clones. As far as I remember, in US is more popular LocoNet.

For example 2 turnout control panel like this:

Can anyone give me advice about rail nippers?

What kind (brand) of rail nippers has worked best for you?

Any that I should avoid?

Thanks.

Digitrax is back to shipping

For those interested. Digitrax is back in the shipping business which is great news. the business and a lot of the employees took a big hit from the hurricane that hit the Panama City area. Probably too late for that Christmas gift but if you need something show them your support.

lenz DCC & PSX

I just hooked up my second booster to a PSX 3 place board. Two work as expected, but the third one shorts out when the red feeder is connected anywhere on that district. I've had built all of my turnouts (fastracks) and checked all frogs and PC tie gaps, all are as they should be. I also checked all the drops to the buss for crossconnections and they are also OK? The district is a 35' long yard with over 20 switches. What should I check next? I unplugged all the freeders from the buss and replugged in the green side, no short on the PSX, naturally.
