Walthers Mainline SD70ACe - Tsunami Sound (OEM decoder) Tuning
Hi,
Has any one experience with using the Walthers OEM Tsunami Sound decoder - in my case in the SD70ACe.
Let's see your fascia controls
So I'm finally just about at the point of installing all the final fascia controls for turnout control, signal repeaters, etc. I'm curious to see what others have done in terms of layout, labelling, switch types, LED colors, etc. Any thoughts on things that have worked well for operators understanding the controls vs. things you'd change if you were re-doing it?

XL System Decoders
Does anyone have experience with their steam decoder? I realize they are the el cheapo decoder and the OEM for MRC decoders.
I have a need for a steam decoder and I don't need Tsunami quality or the price tag.
Thoughts?
What do you all use to program your sound decoders?
I currently have a mix of sound decoders in various locomotives (i.e. Loksound, Tsunami2 and Digitraxx).
I use JMRI for programming and updating CVs, etc. I find this to be a challenge but I am learning.
Is there a more user friendly app to program sound decoders?
For example, I have an older Atlas MP15DC. I'm replacing the old QSI sound decoder with either a Loksound, Tsunami2 or a TCS WOW decoder. . . not sure yet.
Intro from new member and seeking some help
Hello, folks! I am a new member here and a beginner to model railroading. I am building my first layout since I was a kid. When I was a kid I used Atlas sectional track and DC wiring and never built a layout to completion. Today I'm using DCC and trying to go about my project like the more skilled and experienced modelers do. I model HO scale and use Peco track almost exclusively.
This is what is presently puzzling me as I build my layout:

Long Y Turnout on a Mainline Track
I think I know the answer to this question, but I just want to confirm my thoughts
I'm putting a long 'Y' turnout at this point on one of the two mainlines that are entering my external helix structure. The 'Y' turnout is allowing the train to 'recirculate' around the bottom of the room, rather than going up the helix. The trains might be entering this 'Y' either from the points end OR the frog end at particular times.

Wiring Switchcraft 160324 Telelever switches
I have some Switchcraft 160324 switches (3t4p?) that I am using for block wiring, switching between 2 cabs. They work great for this and wiring was simple.
I am working on my sawmill area that is on a branch line and has 2 yard areas (rec/ship). Separate switches for each. All will be on the same cab.
How do I wire these switches for reversing? Wiring the same as 2p2t does not work.
Pops.
LED Headlights
Upgrading an HO Athearn Genesis GP9 for a friend. Installed a Tsunami-2 decoder and wanting to install “led” headlights.
What I am looking for is pre-wired led bulbs that already have a connected resistor. Probably around a 1.5MM given the size of the headlight housing on the Athearn.
”Any recommendations?”
Did see where Athearn has replacement led lights but the price seemed excessive and there was no information if a resistor was already built in.

Loksound 5 with TCS KA1, how do I wire it
I have used KA1 keep alives with Loksound 4 decoders but I am not sure how on the 5. The wiring diagram shows 3 wires but the KA1 only has 2. Anyone out there know how to connect them, thanks
How to Test Trackwork
How do you folks test and or determine if your trackwork is fair/good/better/best ? What tools and or proceedures/equipment do you use?
