Rail holdowns on fast tracks fixtures
The Fast Tracks system is good but has a few drawbacks. I'm not talking about turnout construction here. I'm talking about construction of straight and curved track.
Holding down the rails while trying to solder the rails to the P.C. ties can be frustrating at the least. Compound this with trying to construct continuous rail. Just how long is your work bench any way?
A solution to this is to manufacture a system to hold the rails firmly in the fixture so that you can easily solder the rails to the ties.

Which Model Masters "Brown" should I use for a base coat on ties?
I'm building my own turnouts with Fast Tracks Jigs and since Floquil "Rail Tie Brown" is no longer available, I was wondering which is the closest model masters color to it? I don't want to waste money on a jar of paint that won't match so for those who have used both the colors "Leather" and "Brown" in that brand, which of the two is closest to the Floquil color. Thanks.

MRC PC Interface and Windows 8... What Am I Missing Here?
Hi All,
So I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8 and I wanted to use my MRC wireless PC interface with it, which worked well on my Windows 7. I Installed the drivers for the interface and the MRC program. I made sure that my computer recognized the interface. However, the program did not recognize the interface, giving an error message tat no USB connection is found. Does anyone out there know how to alleviate this? Thanks.

Yard ladder tracks
Many model railroad plans contain a yard or two. In these yards are some pretty extensive ladder tracks. I know that a ladder track is composed of a lot of left and / or right turnouts in series; But that is not quite correct. If I use commercial turnouts the spacing will not look correct. Is there a template or blog or whatever for building a yard ladder network. I do have a Fast Tracks assembly fixture for an N scale #5 turnout and a #6 double crossover.
Trying to understand Loksound speaker impedance
I'm thinking of trying Loksound Direct or Select decoders for my locomotives. From what I've been reading they seem to be going to the head of the class. But I'm not sure about what speakers to use. This 4 ohm, 8 ohm, 100 ohm varieties has me totally confused.
I can't find any explanations or suggestions as to which speaker impedance to use.
Any help will be appreciated.

Taskboard Tie Strips
Originally I posted a question on Taskboard because I had seen Michael Rose use it on his N scale layout. So I thought I'd give it a try for TT scale size strips. I had bought the Taskboard and had a local laser shop cut some test strips. When I posted this picture both in the TTnut forum and here members were saying that it would warp because it's made from card board.
SPROG 3 odd behavior
I just got a SPROG 3, and was excited to get it up and running. However, I had some problems reading a decoder. Usually came up Mfr 255 version 255, sometimes it would come up with other values. Tried a different engine -- that I knew was already programmed -- same thing.
