Modular Layout N Scale Plan: Revised
I posted my first version of a modular track plan on a different forum thread to get feedback. Based on that feedback, I've revised my plan, and I'm looking for more feedback! I took the earlier feedback and have made modifications based on it. As a result, I'm much happier with this new revision of my track plan.

Bonhomie and Hattiesburg Southern
If any of you had /have the LP Steam Railroading under Thundering skies you will probably remember the one track of a Loco switching cars in the yard on the Bonhomie and Hattiesburg Southern in Mississippi. the recording is so clear you can hear the rain and accompaning thunder as if you are trackside (no added sound effects here), I have found information on the Locos but can find nothing with regards track plans etc .

Modular Layout N Scale Plan
I've been working through a layout design for the past few months, trying to get something that took the best advantage of my very small space (apartment living), with thought about the future -- I know I will move at least once, possibly several times, in the next 5 years. Before I commence on building this, I'd love to get some constructive criticism about what I could do better, keeping in mind my overall goals (which are stated below).
Calculating the yard capacity
While planning my next project ldsig.org/node/67 I've been thinking about how many and how long yard tracks I need. Is there a way to calculate this?
Capacity for twice as many cars as you normally have as a maximum?

Narrower aisles vs stacking operators
Hi,
Just looking to get some feedback on a situation I am pondering. I am looking at a few different ways to lay out a plan for an eventual double deck layout. This may not be the next one I build, but I put down my Brunswick/Rockland Maine design for a little while to work on my Lyndonville Sub. in Vermont plan.

shelf switching yard plan
I just threw together a plan for a under-the-table shelf switching yard & wanted to get some feedback on it. It will be accessed via a cassette to the right off the mainline & will accommodate a 5-6 car train. The line in back is the limit (10 1/2 inches deep). While switching I will obviously keep the cassette installed to allow for my yard lead / mainline since its not on the shelf. Comments?

Need sources of info on track design specific to coalmining operations and also locomotive servicing facilities
I am half way done with my first permanent layout and am already itching to plan a scale detailed semi-modular layout featuring Coal mining and a locomotive servicing facilities(both diesel and steam), What I need is a typical track arrangement around a mine site that will allow empty in and loads out operation. Thanks in advance for info/help or advice.
