Yardmaster Express
This is a little off topic in one sense- it is not model railroading- but it is about trains, well, a game about trains anyways that I think is pretty cool.
The game? Yardmaster Express- a new offering from an indie publisher, that funded recently-ish on kickstarter and should be available soon. Here is my review:
If you like games at all, even the light family -fare kind of games, you should check it out!

IAIS's West End - Action at Walnut Creek
I finished the water and foliage at Walnut Creek today, so I thought I'd get a few action shots there. I still need to return to touch up the backdrop seams and add trees, but I plan to complete those tasks in bulk once I finish all the backdrop pics throughout the layout.
Happy Halloween from Thunder Mesa!
Happy Halloween all! The spooky, scratch-built Never Mine is now complete and installed on the layout.
Down at the station
It has been a long time since I have posted anything. My schedule has been sideways for the past 7-8 months. However I have made some progress on the layout, but not near what I had planned or hoped to accomplish. I spent the better part of the summer building two skewed thru girder bridges.
OMG I just bought a "laser"
Well, I've overcome fear and common sense, and my "thrifty" ways and bought a laser cutter...
How I'm going to get it to the moon is anybody's guess!
Seriously though, I'm curious how many folks on the forum have/use laser cutters.
Overseas Railfan Five Challenge
As I learned from O Scale Trains Magazine, the Railfan Five Challenge calls for those five photos that can best illustrate moments or scenes that influenced your personal interest in railroading.
So here from Worms, Germany, are my five most influencing scenes in railroading.
My second free downloadable Calendar for 2015: Colorado Narrow Gauge
Just like my US-Diesel calendar, here comes the one for the narrow gauge and steam buffs. I like to share my free downloadable calendar available at my modellcom-blog. Sorry, but the site is only in german, but you may use the translation function to get a little idea about what is going on there (railroads, real and model and cardmodeling).
