IAIS Grimes Line: Finishing Touches
Finished up the smaller details at the Fleur Yard expansion on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.
Up first is a look at the western approach to the yard along Terrace Hill. I built some power poles using bamboo skewers, strip lumber, and Rix Products cross arms. On the prototype a row of high-voltage lines parallels the joint UP/IAIS main until it reaches the yard, where it turns south over the Raccoon River.

Looking for help with a local school club
I am looking for people in the Lomabrd Illinois area (could be companies hobbyshops volunteers etc.) that could help sponsor and build a layout for a model railroad club that may begin next school year I have not gone to the principal about it but last year he said it could be possible if I can find a teacher to do it. If you can help please put it in the comments or PM thanks.

A Hitch in its Giddyap
The Little Trees and Surfside recently acquired a new loco, a Bachman 0-6-0 side tank Porter. The LT&S is a tourist/logging railroad set in the present day, but operates vintage steam equipment for excursions and such. The current roster is a Climax, a Heisler, and a couple of diesels. (A Shay is in the shops for restoration). The ruling grade on the mainline (all 7 actual feet of it) is 4.5%. What does such an operation want with a rod loco? Well, an occasional visitor to the layout room is a seven year old lady.

Originally MR's "The Virginian " build
Several years ago the magazine had a project layout based loosely on a Virginian branch. I took the theme and ran with it modeling instead an ex-NYC/PC branch in West Virginia called the Hitop branch, as I model some NYC,but primarily Penn Central. In anticipation of this being published early next year, I set up a copyrighted website with a story behind the building of the layout, a history of the area, of course modeling photos from the first lumber cut to the layout today, and prototype photos from the era and area. I'm modeling 1968-1975.
