A Mini Test layout

The astute observer may have noticed I haven't posted about any layout progress for quite some time, and wondered if this was because I was busily building the Eastborough Industrial, or if I was still waffling.

It's the latter.

I'm happy with the track plan, the only minor reservation I have is Trans Plastics - that's a lot of cars (somewhere around 20) for a medium amount of operating interest.  I've had thoughts of substituting a smaller plastics industry.  But that's not what's holding me up.

What more could I ask.....

Here are some basic diagrams of the St J and LV worked into the same trackage that the Conn River line also occupies.  There is a way to short circuit the shared trackage but it is not worth the disruption/destruction that would be necessary for minimal benefit.  Besides....the trains are interacting with each other more intensely with the shared arrangement.  It's a profitable compromise.

Railroad Mobius Strip

My layout is a two track, twice-around loop folded over itself. I placed a double crossover between Main 1 and Main 2 to provide access to a yard lead. When the double crossover is reversed then trains cross from Main 1 to Main 2, and upon coming around again from Main 2 to Main 1. The two track main becomes one track.

The layout also incorporates two reversing loops that cross each other. If both loops are reversed then trains do not change directions but traverse both loops.

Crescent City Model Railroad Club in New Orleans needs help from Hurricane Ida damage.

The Crescent City Model Railroad Club in the greater New Orleans area sustained some bad roof damage during Hurricane Ida. If you can, please help us raise some funds to help get a new roof. Also if you can, please share this on your personal social media platforms. The more we can get this message out to the public the more success we may have. We have set up a Go Fund Me Page to help raise funds for a new roof.

Please help us to Save the Crescent Lines.

Thank you

Okay so I need to do some updating on diagrams but suffice it to say I have found the St J and LV fits back where she was prior.  Trains now exit behind Union Station representing the Conn River Line.  Which places St johnsbury back in the laundry room.  I have re named at town to Walden and Greensboro Bend is a limited but acceptable stop on the way over the hills to Morrisville...also in the original location more formally known as Cookieville.  And the rest of it works all the way through to St Albans through CV trackage access through Sheldon Jct.

EMD F7 C&E #1250

Another rebuilt for my N-Scale Cleveland & Eastern Railroad got its finishing touches.

Base model is a KATO F7 A Unit. where I removed the engine room windows, as well as the lower lamp housing on the front. I applied some decent body works by cutting back some lower skirting. I also added a winterization hatch on the last blower.

Enjoy... a bit longer than usual but I had more to talk about and of course more trains to run!

Building "Bunza's Boatworks"

I had shared a sneak peek at my early efforts to conceptualize this structure over on my Merrill's Point thread but I've decided this structure and small tribute to a friend deserves it's own thread.

I once again started out with just an idea and some cardboard from a dog food box. My loyal basset hound "Henry" keeps me in a steady supply of those so it's become my method of choice for mocking up the core of my buildings.
