Google does it, again
Google created a automatic movie using video and static images that I had in my Photos and Video account. They even added visual effects and music and took out my hand shake. Pretty cool. I never knew they provide that service.
Anyone else had a similar pleasant surprise?

Pumpkin Orange on the way... Update #3!
Good day all,
I started working on another project since my HLCX 3857 is done. Some may remember the GP-35 that went into a bath of alcohol? Well, it got out all shiny and new (not!) and work has begun. I'm modeling QGRY 2500 GP35E, an ex-SP GP35 as you can see with the light positions.
Following the prototype pictures I found, I added as much details as I could. Again, this model is based on the proto version, but is not identical! Here is a link to a proto pic: http://www.railpictures.net/photo/166646/

The magic smoke escaped...
I have two Overland Models CP Rail C424s that I recently upgraded with loksound decoders. The first one (4250) I did a few months ago with a Loksound Select Alco C251 decoder and a sugar cube speaker. The second one (4236) I did a couple of weeks ago with the newer Full Throttle version. While upgrading the second one, I went back and added extra pickups to both (OMI models from the 80's only picked up from one rail per truck) as well as a second speaker.
Limon Layout Background info.
Here's some background info and pics on the era I'm working on my layout. Ownership of the rails changed several times from the United Fruit Co. to Northern, and then eventually the local government control. The United Fruit Co. also owned it's own fleet of steam ships known as the Great White Fleet.

MDF Board for Roadbed?
Having access to a laser cutter and abundance of thin MDF board at engineering club I was wondering if this would be a good candidate to lay the track on instead of directly on the foam. I could set up basic files then combine them doing multiple once on a 12"x24" sheet so will it work? I also thought maybe it would work well for fascias allowing me to add track diagrams easily.
Limon Layout, Let the Foam begin.
Well here's the second installment, laying out the base foam.
I started by cutting the large sheets down to cover the two main sides and used the left over bit for the middle.
I used an electric carving knife, and it worked great with nice smooth edges. This actually an old upholstery trick for cutting foam cushions.
