Mockups Have Arrived!

It’s been a long time since I posted anything on my layout (since early March in fact!) so it was definitely time for an update. This post started out as a ginormous update on everything I’m doing on my layout but for the sake of your sanity and mine I’ve decided to cut it up into a few separate posts.   I could feel my eyes glazing over just typing it, let alone reading it!

Updates to the Bagnell Branch - town added to the helix.

One of my future plans to to change the layout's theme to a Rock Island mainline and let the Mopac operate the small switching yard.  I just finished Blair Lines Gerald RI depot and placed it on the right of way to see how it looked with a freight running by.  l

Any Suggestions - Identifying Locos and Rolling Stock

Hello All,

I have been enjoying MRH immensely since I have found it and hope someone can help me out.  I admit that identifying all types of locos and rolling stock is not my strength and wondered if anyone could suggest websites that allows you to find pictures and information to solve this issue.  Part of the reason is I am trying to identify ages and uses of items I currently have so that I am using the appropriate ones on my layout which is set in the mid 1930's.

Any help here is appreciated - Thanks!

My new Class 27 on its first run on the layout

Last weekend I attended a FREMO meeting in Hanau, with my Isle of Skye Railway modules. There I made a short movie showing my new Class 27 in action.

Cannon boxcar ends + build update

Here is an update to my A&MR all-door build:

Here are the base layers for the doors installed.  Also visible is the "holy" gusset plate on the end of the sill.  On my last post I had a picture of the center plug doors.  Since then I realized the spacing was incorrect and had to re-make them.  The correct doors are shown above.

Back to the Grind

Lots of purchases to sort out after my visit to the kidlets. Engines, cars, detail parts and buildings to work on in between the spring honeydo list.
