Don't Fence Me In

Wrapped up the large chain link fence around Beisser Lumber, including the gate. The frame was made by soldering piano wire together. The chain link is the finest screen wire I could fine. Barbed wire is sewing thread wrapped around each post. The fence was then painted and weathered using spray paints and india ink.

Before and After

With Beisser Lumber complete I'm turning my attention to a long overdue upgrade of my rolling stock fleet. The attached photo shows two of the exact same model boxcar, the Athearn FMC 50 foot S&NC. They're on their way to becoming IATR 4301 and IATR 4348.

While car weathering is not something I enjoy, it's a definite improvement over the out of the box version.

Fascia Labels and Signs

I recently had some small, engraved plastic signs made up to label the roads and grade crossings on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.

Workin' on the Warehouse

Beisser Beginnings

Scenery is underway on the Grimes Peninsula and Beisser Lumber on my IAIS Grimes Line layout. The track has been painted and detailed, and the large Beisser Lumber lot is cut, installed and weathered. Late today I finished up NW 54th Avenue, which serves as the northern border of my modeled section.
