Added some LEDs for my cabinets

Hi all, I have a few glass cabinets in the dining room where I have some of my finished models.
I just added some LED strips to two of them.

Now I'm considering building some sort of bases for them to get them up from the floor.

Painting Nn3 Disconnect Logging Trucks

Hello,

I have a couple of kits for the Nn3 Disconnect Logging Trucks by T R Knapp Model Engineering (you can see them here). I would like to know what colors to use for painting and weathering them. These little trucks will be part of a logging themed layout.

Visiting the Sipping & Switching Society @ Raleigh, NC (video links added)

As a modular model railroader, I've met a variety of model railroad groups over the years. Some groups are very open and friendly while others aren't. Just the nature of human interaction, I believe.

Track schematics - any rules or conventions?

I have ben thinking a bit about track schematics for my layout, both for each town for diagrams to possibly put on the fascia or for various purposes on the computer or in the future when I get to having a dispatch area.  While I have seen many on here, I don't know what constitutes drawing the schematics "correctly" or if there even is a right or wrong or particular conventions.  I tried searching but that didn't find me anything.

Larry Sapia Photo on last page

There is a really cool photo on the last page of the Nov. MRH. Larry Sapia is credited as the photographer. It has a street rod pacing a 2-8-2. Is it possible to purchase a high resolution poster size version of this image?

Why do we says things that give us food for thought

There am I happily build an HO layout in my hobby room (staging to staging and 9' x 9') and then I said to my wife "If I had done this in N, I could have had a roundy roundy!". "I like the little trains" says she. "That's why I haven't repainted any of my locos", says I, "in case I need to sell them!".

So now I am sitting here contemplating!

Boxcar Roof Weathering

Are all boxcar roofs plain galvanized metal or are most painted to match the car. Trying to prepare to weather several cars and can not find decent pictures of roofs.
