Adversity brings out the best in people

Following the vandalism attack on exhibits at an exhibition in the UK, a donations website was set up to fund raise towards helping the club that organised the exhibition, and the exhibitors and traders who lost so much of their life's work. The fund aimed to raise £500 (GBP). It has raised over £80,000 (GBP) in two days. Rock star modeller Rod Stewart pledged £10,000 (GBP), and music producer enthusiast Pete Waterman also offered his support.

sad day for everyone. including the owner as his wife has passed away.

i pray some company does pick this up and keep it going, as i am not one who will make them rich, but i do have a number of re-power projects coming on line over the next couple - three years, where i will need NWSL products.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypeOKJH0HZo&t=19s

As always, thanks for watching and God bless!!

Embarrassing Moments (How many times have I bought that tool?)

Have you ever been looking for that tool or kit that you bought and found two, or three?

Im guilty of being on eBay and bidding on something that “I should have” - but already do and forgot!

Spring Cleaning in My Hobby Room, and Other Thoughts on Minimalism

I think model railroading is best enjoyed in a clean, organized space, and I decided to do some spring cleaning in my hobby room, on my work bench, and in my collection in general to better align with that belief.

Here's how the room looks now:

I thought we were a hobby of... (Rule 1: it's my layout, Rule 2:see Rule 1)

"It's your layout, do what you want"?

I have a proto-freelanced layout that I'm slowing building. I keep at it and don't care if the magazines or surveys or anything else agrees with my layout. So long as the supplies I need from the hobby manufacturers, the hardware stores, and places like Amazon, ebay, and Shapeways (to name a very few number of places) keep supplying what I need, that's all I need.

Layout update 39

Hey everyone, back again with another update!!! Seriously though, sorry it's been so long. I haven't really been doing anything aside from inventory to prepare for the move, a tiny bit of work with some Tortoise machines, and admittedly way too much time enjoying my new GTX1070Gaming graphics card. Anyways, this update covers a locomotive lighting, the little bit of work I did manage to do, some finished projects as well as a look at the inventory process.
