Modeling general discussion

Been working some.....
Hi friends,
last week I have been working some in the layout room (vacation you know, lol), putting up light, making use of my spare pc, cleaning up a bit, been busy infact.
I am currently working with a software program called "atmosphere deluxe" that will be put in use for ambiant background sounds whilst doing the switchmoves on the H's&T's yard. That's where my spare pc comes in good use since it was only taking up dust. Almost there on the ambiant background sounds, will update asap I am realy there.

Photo Headers on Pages
Just wondering if there is a list of the header photos and who they belong to somewhere. I recognize a couple of them and I noticed another topic started about the celophane water and ship, but I wondered if there is credits somewhere for the others. One particular one I'm wondering about is the Moose Lake, SK grain elevator with the CP tube train.

Finally someone is doing it
Just got the new RMC yesterday and saw the new ad for MRH in it. Big and black and bold. Cool.

Historical background helps
With help from Google Earth and a lot of searching on the internet I have been able to piece together a basic historical background for my layout. I was able to find out what railroads were in the area and where they ran. I also found that as far as the area that I named my railroad after does not have an industrial park of any kind I figured that as long as there was a rail line near by having and industrial park located in the area would be OK.

A way to visit threads or blogs entries I have participated in with new entries?
Hi,
It would be cool if there was an easy way to bring up threads or blog commentaries I have participated in that have new entries since I last visited. I like to make sure I follow up with anything I post and it would make it easier to do. It could look just like recent posts but be filtered for only ones I have a comment in that have new stuff.
Thanks,
Chris

I am like a pig rolling in mud...
Welcome MRH - This is so awesome, a true hobby site with some of the most talented modelers behind the scenes. You would have to go to those boring YAHOO groups to discuss a lot of this material. I have two favorite sites, Railwire and now MRH. I am modeling the SP circa 1985 on the West Side Line from Fresno to Kerman. I am getting so much information and tidbits already in the infancy of this site. Being a fan of Joe and Bernie's work, I can wait for the formulation of this site to achieve it's mass. Thanks and best of continued success.

Added new subtopic areas to the forum
We've added several new subtopic areas to this forum to facilitate having discussions around specific topics of interest.
Since MRH is a Model-Trains-Video.com publication, we're using their topic categorization:
-Dream and design
-Benchwork and roadbed
-Track and electrical/DCC
-Scenery and structures
-Locomotives and rolling stock
-Operations and maintenance

Making Commercial Turnouts Operate Reliably
At the latest NMRA convention I believe there was a clinic titled "Making Commercial Turnouts Operate Reliably" conducted by Paul Chandler. Is there any type of summery or handout available that outlines the techniques presented at this clinic. I'd be very interested in learning more about this topic.
Can't upload picture
I'm trying to upload a picture for my signature but can't get it to work. I use Photobucket to store my pictures. Could someone tell me how to do this? Thanks Bob
