Tutorial Website

Hello again all,

Over the past few weeks I've been putting together a website that pieces together all the model railroading stuff I've been doing for the last 12 months.

All of my YouTube tutorials have been categorised to make the easier to navigate to a specific topic and I've also included some written tutorials I did a while ago there as well.

Weekly Photo Fun - May 22nd to May 28th, 2015

Great work everyone last week! Its time to start of this week's photo thread! Post way!

As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

A quick video for the steam or narrow gauge fans

This is from a recent outdoor photo shoot of our Spruce Coal & Timber layout. Quick video shot with cell phone, but always fun. We will be starting a new layout soon in another scale.

Enjoy and have a great memorial day weekend or I hope you had a great Victoria day or whatever else you celebrate around the world.

Steeplecab Restoration--if you're interested in the 12" to the foot flavor

Some years ago, Seashore Trolley Museum restored Atlantic Shore Lines Steeplecab #1--the last of the wooden steeplecabs.  If you're interested in what's involved in that magnitude of project, they documented it nicely on their website.  (The loco actually ran into the restoration shed under its own power...)

Like us, they had to decide what time in her career to restore her to, and the decision making is described here.

And here she sits, outside the shop that rebuilt her:

Using a color pallette

Hi Guys,

With the numbers of posts I read about Floquil and "Grimey Black", I was wondering if anybody used a palette and customized their own colors? I do for everything. I get mixed results,

Can anyone share tricks in mixing colors,,, sometimes I make a batch of aged concrete and put it in a jar. Do you rely on premixed for anything?

Question about RR depots

Most old-fashioned railroad depots I've seen have a bay window sort of thing on the side facing the tracks. If the station is located between two tracks, would it have a bay window on both sides?
