Hey guys,

Would appreciate any feedback you might have on the recently-released Ops. Live DVD on my Allagash Railway. Joe is planning a second volume in the next month or two, covering the New Sharon switcher operation. Most of what is in V1 is coverage of road trains.

My Essex Terminal Black Bridge scenery after small rebuild

Scenery - Structures

After about a year I have rebuilt my layout. There is track laying to be done, I thought I'd give the bridge some scenery. I will add more trees finish the creek. I haven't done scenery for about 15 years.

Saturday I drove up to my LHS and picked up an Atlas #2752 custom N line #6 switch. Funny thing I never noticed that on the bottom of the package in bold white letters on black background "made in the U.S.A." I thought all atlas track items were made in China.

I need crossing angle help

Hi I have googled and searched all the forums and cant find the answer.

I want to build a crossing for #7 switches but cant find out which template I should use. I say #7 because that's what the free-mon group wants as minimum.

What angle do I need for crossing

Bumps and Clunks - Switching Videos?

Can anyone suggest a few youtube videos that showcase the bumps and clunks of switching without a grade crossing signal bell clanging in the background?

Ideally there would be very little locomotive noise in the video, I'm just looking for some nice examples of the different sounds modern railcars make as they are coming together and apart during normal switching operations.

Laying Track on foamcore

I set Saturday aside to lay the track for my inglenook switcher. I had read with interest the discussion on roadbed vs. no roadbed (http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/19333) and decided that I would use the 3/16 foamcore as roadbed. I could have used cork but the foamcore is slightly thinner and I wanted to give it a try.

It strikes me increasingly that, in the modern world, there is stuff sitting everywhere. It seems hard to walk to any retail establishment today without crashing into some large object designed to sell - or rent - me something, or get me to donate something. A visit to my local grocery store presented an amazing array of stuff sitting on the porch, in the parking lot; everywhere.
