Track voltage DCC

I changed the track voltage from HO 16v to O/G 20v on my Digitrax system. All locos except one work fine. One with a DH121 decoder  will not move. Headlight blinks but no go. Switched back to 16v and works fine, back to 20v, lights blink, no go. Any ideas? I am in O scale and would like to increase track voltage.

SP branchline

This is a photo of my SP California branchline.  It is a freelance layout designed by my friend, "Mountaingoat" Greg Baker.   He designed it in 2001 and I have been working on it twelve years.   It has a fifty foot mainline in a 12'x14' room.

and a 3.1% grade.   It is "sort of" done for now.

The locos are Genesis GP9's.

Mulligan's Excavating

Everybody knows the story of “Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel” and how Mary Anne got stuck in the cellar of the Popperville town hall. Not too many people know what happened 75 years later when the town of Popperville built a new town hall. The old building was scheduled for demolition and the town was going to sell Mary Anne for scrap. Hearing this Mike Mulligan’s grandson, Bill set out to rescue Mary Anne.

How to remove ballast to remove trackwork

I have a friend who has passed away, and I am helping his widow dismantle and sell off his model railroad collection.  I would like to salvage the track however half of it has ballast installed.  I have no idea what he used to glue it down.  Though from what I remember, it was glued back in the mid 1980s, so I presume it would either be matte medium or diluted white glue.  Does anyone have a "magic potion" to break down the ballast so i can remove the track safely without damaging it?

Thanks.

Where to Get 2" Foamboard"

I live the the San Francisco Bay area,  I used to be able to buy 1 or 2 inch thick pink or blue foam board locally at Home Depot or Lowes.  No longer carried.  Does anyone know a local source??

Making HO scale snow fencing

In a recent Weekly Photo Fun thread, a couple people asked about the snow fencing in my Bluffs enginehouse scene.  I wrote that that fencing was made by a friend from the Yahoo Proto-Layouts list, Randy O'Brien, by applying a solvent to plastic window screen material, hammering it flat, and then painting it orange.

TrainCat

Does anyone know if TrainCat are actually operating?

Their web site does not make it clear & I am unable to get to their on-line store.
