Norfolk Southern HO Passenger Cars The Business Train

The Norfolk Southern railroad issued a HO Bachmann Silver Series passenger car for their employees, I believe the year was 2007.  These NS passenger cars are hard to find. Has any other manufacture produced a HO NS passenger car for the public?

Frisco HO Locomotives - GP7/9 in Yellow/Black Paint Scheme

I have been looking for years for these models and cannot find them any where - online, hobby shops, eBay, Craig's List, etc.  Anyone out there know where I might find them?

Thanks.

Programming a SoundTraxx Tsunami decoder with an unknown address

I posted on the MRH forum about putting a decoder in a Bachmann GP30. The MRH community gave several helpful responses.

As you may be aware, I purchased a Tsunami decoder. All was good - I had the decoder wired to the motor (after
discovering I had the motor wired backwards) and the frame and hooked up my speaker (in an enclosure) and I got sound and the loco ran. No lights yet - I wanted to test things as they were.

Bachmann FA2

Interesting to see that Bachmann  has a FA2 A and B with SoundTraxx sound for $103.00, each. This will help those want diesel sound but at an affordable price.

Decaling Accurail Kits

Hi All-

I have 13 Accurail boxcar kits coming my way and I have on hand the renumbering decals from Accurail to make unique car numbers on all of them.  While I'm comfortable with the basic concepts of decaling does anyone have any previous experience working with the accurail decals in particular who could impart any knowledge?

Many Thanks,

~rb

The SW1001 Project

After stalling for several years, I've returned to my quest for some SW1001.  For those that may not know, the EMD SW1001 is basically a SW1000, with lower walkways and an old style cab, to better fit the confines of industrial users.  This modified version actually outsold the stock SW1000.

Better Late than Never Railroad #2801

Hello everyone

Well I finished another one of my locomotives tonight. BLN 2801 is a Spectrum 2-8-0 that I have now relettered and weathered for my future layout. I weathered the engine using AIM weathering powders and rubbing alcohol. I did have to brush dullcote onto the drivers and side rods so the powders would hold. Now she is ready to spend years pulling trains and looks like she has been doing it for quite a while too.

Old Style Spectrum 44 Ton Overhaul

The shop forces worked diligently on Sunday morning to repair long out of service New Haven Railroad 0815, a General Electric 44 Ton diesel electric locomotive. This unit was purchased new for use on my layout in 1997. The unit saw a fair amount of usage on my first two layouts. The unit started to suffer from cracked axle gears and saw limited service and finally being parked on the RIP Track in 2005. In December 2011 I secured new axle gears and wheels from Bachmann in hopes of being able to repair this unit.

Anybody test factor of adhesion on models?

I've been wondering this for a while, and kind of thinking of setting up a test rig.  Before I do, has anybody already done it?
