ATSF BK Ice Deck Update

Finally finished the model except for painting. Hopefully will be able to get that done today. The paper template is of the icing facility area on the LaMesa Model RR Club layout. I need to cut out the layout substrate and then the deck will be the correct height above the rails. Those are 40 and 50' SFRD reefers in the photos.

ATSF Bakersfield Ice Deck Progress

The North deck is nearing completion finally. I needed to "imagineer" the ice block conveyor system on the east end of the deck as I have virtually no information on how the prototype was configured. If anyone has documentation on this and is willing to share, I'd really appreciate it. The deck is made in 4 sections that dovetail together so it can be easily installed and removed if needed. Our dog food cans came in handy as weights to hold down the decks onto birch baseboards while the epoxy setup.

Building plan eBook size

I am wondering how large the 2 structure ebooks PDF files are. I currently have no house internet and I use my phone for web access. I would like to take advantage of the special price for both ebooks but need to make sure I can download to my phone so I can then transfer them to my computer. Any help in this is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

The Big Scene Getting Close

Something barrow and something blue, well do not know about the blue part but we have the borrowed part covered. Thanks to Lee in Bellavista AR. Lee took down his layout. I got the trestle. Two pictures his and mine.

Now to modify and install.

Drill Bits

Working on putting some Walthers Cornerstone kits together and the kit I'm currently working on calls for using a #60 and #75 bits.  Now I have a lot of different drill bits for bench work and stuff like that.  Do I need to go buy the special bits for hobby or is there equivalent like a #60 is a 1/16" bit?

Custom HO Scale Traffic Light

In a previous post, I mentioned using SMD LEDs to make my own traffic lights - I remembered taking step by step photos of the process, but I forgot where I put them and wrote it off as a lost cause. A few days ago I found the files in an unlabeled folder - looks like this post will happen after all!

RUSTING car SKELETON...SKELETON...Abandoned, Built up in N, HO, S and O scale(s)

These old time vehicles have seen better days !  They sit rusting out and left for dead

they come assembled and ready for the layout.....perfect beside an old tree, in the backwoods, in a junkyard / scrapyard, abandoned beside a building or trackside.......GREAT CHARACTER !!!
