MRH Website general discussion

Issue 3 release date - July 3, 2009
We're announcing the exact release date of issue 3: July 3, 2009.
With issue 3, we're adding some special premium content that you can access on the web for free using the links in the magazine - and this content is only available for the first 30 days. After the first 30 days is up, you can still access the premium content if you're desperate, but it will cost you $2 (we're not especially worried about the money part - rather the message here is don't wait to download an issue or it will cost you).
I can upload PDFs just fine ...
Chris:
Don't know what the issue is for you, I can upload PDFs to this site just fine.
DAN W.

Ability to upload PDFs
It would be handy if we could upload PDFs in addition to the other media allowed for upload.
A 14k PDF turned out to be the best way for me to upload a series of 3 xtrkcad drawings of my layout ideas.

Ability to Save/Publish Blog Posts
Hello MRH-
I wanted to make a suggestion that might be of interest to some (I know it would be a great utility for me)especially those who tend to be a bit "long winded" in their blog posts like myself.

MRH main server outage - but we're back!
Seems to be the day for server problems!
We had an issue with the MRH main server as well - but all is well again. You gotta watch your disk space to make sure your log files don't get too big ... (wink)

MRH ad link server down
Just a note to say the MRH ad link server is down right now because the server is having problems. This means none of our advertiser links work on this website or in the magazines or newsletter.
There's currently no estimate as to when it will be back up - let's hope the problem is solved soon!

Request for a Spellcheck
Hi all-
I did want to put in a request for a spellcheck if at all possible. I don't know if it's difficult to do, but I realized from years of autocorrect in Word just how BAD my typing has become as I've had a crutch for so long.
It would be of great help for those of us (and I think I'm a guily party here) who tend to be a little long winded in our blog posts.
Thanks
~rich
Been trying for a year, on and off, to register at the Atlas forums-no luck! Any ideas?
I never get any response!
It's a clunky forum, but I would like to be able to reply or post a comment every once in awhile.
I only have standard internet options enabled (I mean, I can access and register or whatever, on all other websites).
Eh?

Image posting should be fully functional now
Now that the DNS is fully resolved, posting images on the MRH site should be fully functional again.
Regular members get 64MB of image posting space, and super users get 128 MB of space. If you consider yourself something of a web tech whiz, then you can become a superuser by just requesting the upgrade on the Contact Us page.
Superusers also get a more powerful editor with many more options when posting, plus some more features around managing their posts.
This Is Fantastic
Though the virtual train simulator world has had e-magazines for several years now, it was only a matter of time before there would be a magazine, or e-magazine that would be advertising supported, (as are all magazines), but without the costs associated with using the mighty printing press, this is fantastic, its nice to see a real quality magazine, or again, e-magazine, come to fruition.
