To Free-Mo or not to Free-Mo?
I've been thinking about my model railroad future for my new home and I definately want a design that allows for future moves. While surfing the web I ran across info on Free-Mo. (http://free-mo.org/). I'm already leaning towards a shelf style no wider than 24" so I thought "why not go modular so I can also enjoy my modules with others"? There is a Free-Mo club right here in central Florida! I'd like to get your thoughts on Free-Mo specifically along with other HO modular styles. Thanks!
100th Anniversary T&P Historic Station and Events with PHOTOS
For those of you looking for something to do on October 20th, 2012, please check out the attached Red River Valley Railroad Historical Society newsletter. If you are in East Texas or what we call the ArkLaTex area (Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, where the three states come together) you have an opportunity to visit and photograph the UP 844.
Enjoy!

Are we allowed to post short newsletters in pdf format? How do you do it?
I received by email the latest Newsletter of the Red River Valley Railroad Historical Society, Inc. It is 4 pages about the 100th Anniversary of the Marshall, Texas T&P Depot, which is still in operation. UP is bringing in the 844 for this event. This all takes place October 20th.
I would like to share the newsletter as it has a lot of details about times, the museum, the displays and availability of the 844. I just don't know how to upload the pdf.

Fitting A DCC decoder in to the HO Atlas AEM-7
I am hopefully about to install some DH163's into some AEM-7's. But the space looks very cramped.
To save me trying to fit them in the wrong place, has anyone done this already and can advise?
Bachmann HO GE 70 ton switcher w/dcc
Seeking input on what to look for/check, when these neat little critters are not running well. Since just got this loco from good friend yesterday [who said it needed tweaking], have no data yet, until I can make place to set up short test track in very small farmhouse [all HO stored, as we now have new grand-daughter; ex-layout space now her nursery]. Any advice really appreciated. TTFN. ....Old Tom aka papasmurf in NH
1920's railroad tie manufacturing video
Hi all
I hope I put this in the right categories!!!!
Every month the MO Conservation Dept puts out a free (to MO residents) magazine. Usually I only have time to read the cartoon and thumb through the nature pictures. Today I received the current mag and there was a section on sale items. This DVD caught my eye and I thought I would pass on the link for anyone else interested. Bear in mind, I have not seen this video so cannot vouch of it, but I think I may try to get one.
Here is the write-up from their website:

How to attach details...
I have items like fences, road barriers and the like to add to my cork or foam base on my HO layout. My question is simple:
How do you attach them. For trees and telephone poles I drill a very small hole and glue a straight pin. Just the tip of the pin which is very hard to cut by the way. This actually works well. The straight pin allows me to move the object around until I find the most pleasing position.
So what do I you do. Something similar? Is there an easier way?
Feeling like a Kid who didn't get what they wanted for christmas
About two months ago I was looking through a copy of Historic Rails when I came across a photo ad for Cornerstone's New River Mining Company (HO), which showed a totally new version of the mining company with a little red stamp over the photo which read NEW. I quickly and eagerly read through the description and thought WOW, I have to have this! I didn't realize at the time that what I was reading didn't really describe the photo that was in the ad. So, with great speed and agility I fetched my credit card from my wallet and ordered the kit.&nb

Improvements to the Recent posts list
Hello
I have been a MRH follower since the very beginning, and is just missing one possibility as I look at the Recent posts list:
A check box at each thread, telling me that this is an interesting thread, that I want to get beck to later and read more. This would have been a nice addition!
Anyone else missing such an option?
So MRH, is this possible?
