33rd National Narrow Gauge Convention
The 33rd National Narrow Gauge Convention committee would like to invite you to visit our website http://33rdnngc.com
The 33rd NNGC will be held August 28-31 2013, in Pasadena CA.
Pasadena is rich in railroad history, all of the major rail lines serving California including the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific and Pacific Electric "big red cars" were a part of daily life.

Another bridge question.
There are lots of old photos showing spindly steel bridges crossing valleys. Those photos are all in B&W format or Sepia Tone. My question is the color painted on the steel to protect it? Is there any documentation as to what color these bridges were painted in the turn of the century to the 1930s? I like the bright silver we see in today's color photos, but I'm not sure that was used back then.
Thanks!

Suggest an alternate layout of web site....
I think this is my first post here, though I was surprised to find I've been a member for almost two years. At first when the mag started up I wasn't sure how long it would last and to blunt didn't take it that seriously. Now I'm beginning to think the opposite, that the print mags are in trouble and its the internet material that's going to survive and flourish. So I thought I'd pop in and ask a question about an issue I'm having in benchwork, but found I didn't like the layout.
Model Railroad Open House "Tour de Chooch" 2012 Layouts I visited
Hello, Last weekend was the "Tour de Chooch" 2012 Open House Layout tour here in New Hampshire and in Massachusetts,27 Layouts were open for public viewing. 20 of the layouts were open on Saturday Nov 24th and 7 were open on Sunday the 25th.
I was able to go visit 7 of the layouts on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. 9 of the layouts I visited were Ho Scale,1 was an outdoor Garden Layout. And one of the Ho layouts was at the Pepperell Siding Model Railroad Club .

A track plan for Mike Confalone's Allagash RR
I've all ways been a big fan of Mike's modeling. And I've seen lots of pictures and videos of his layout in magazines and the web. It would be very helpful to see a track plan of his layout to follow along his pictures, videos, and articles. How could I find one? Is it published in one of the model railroader magazines that he was in?
A virtual roster - and a light challenge
Fellow model railroaders:
I currently have an HO fleet that includes 2 engines, 15 box cars, 4 hoppers, 4 bulkhead flats, 5 tank cars and a caboose. Over the past three years, I have also accumulated a virtual fleet of three engines and 18 assorted cars, purchased at the rate of one or two per month. Why are they virtual? Because after selecting them for purchase, I used the purchase price instead to buy an equal value of food for a local food bank.

Logging In.....
I just noticed that I remain logged in over night. Used to be one had to log in every morning. Is this new, a glitch, or what? Sorry if I missed an announcement about it........................

SPAM!
I've been marking spam right and left today. Every one of the posts has originated from a user name containing "cialis" or "viagra," and one of those two words has been contained in the text as well. Isn't there a way the forum platform can be set to automatically flag any user name with either of those words and/or any text with them, thus placing the user or post in a queue for review? The problem could also be largely contained if every first post from a new user required moderator approval.
