MRH Troubleshooting

Problem with Subscriber Bonus Downloads

After battling along for years with a steam powered (dial-up) modem downloading everything in the lowest possible resolution because of my slow internet connection.I finally upgraded to a greased lightning (broadband) connection.  Since then I have been downloading all MRH videos and bonus downloads in the highest possible resolution available (preferably HD).  This has only emphasised how bad the low resolution videos I had previously downloaded are compared to the HD ones.

Soundtraxx Tsunami - Success...

Hi All,

Well today I decided to take another step in the evolution of the JL&T.  I installed my first Soundtraxx Tsunami TSU-AT1000 DSD with a Soundtraxx Mini Oval 8 ohms, 1.0 Watt speaker into my Atlas MP15 - Conrail switcher.

Loco Speed

After laying out a basic oval as a test track I tried out several locomotives on it. My problem is of all the engines I ran only one an Athern ran as it should. All of the rest ran slow. I'm using a Digitrax DCC controler. All of the locos were brand new and had never been run before. Any ideas would be appreciated.

MRH on the Playbook

I'm in the process of transitioning from ipad to playbook. I've been experimenting with the various versions of the pdfs and have discovered that the Linux and Mac versions seem to display the best (the pc version doesn't render at all). However, I've noticed that some pages don't display (for example the Dallas Model advert) which only display as a white page. Any ideas or future resolutions? I'm more than willing to test any experimental formats.

Thanks!

Shawn Unger

Can't download or read June issue.

I'm having the same problem. The message I get is:

Should I be able to add a comment or highlight an MRH article using Adobe Reader X?

I use pdf e-books a fair amount for my business, and reader X's capability to added a comment or highlight text makes e-books a much better replacement for the paper variety.

In my MRH magazines, the comment and highlight tools appear grayed out - is there a way to change that?

Thanks,

George

Safari download requires login?

Normally I download and read MRH on my iPad. Up until this issue I haven't had any trouble, I download the Mac version from the alternate downloads page. With this issue though, both the download now and other options links on the get the current issue page result in a kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 303. Cleared cache, history, cookies. Tried turning off popup blocking, and enabling cookies for all sites (normally I only enable for the page), no luck. Also tried doing the same thing in safari on my MacBook, got the same error. On a whim I tried logging in to MRH, then downloading.

HELP more login issues (but my first)

I just brought home my brand new 'puter, and now I'm having log in issues. I can log in, and the page refreshes with my handle on it to show I'm logged in. But then click on anything to navigate, and when the page loads I'm logged out. Logging in again gives the same result. I've tried re-starting IE, re-booting the PC, and get the same frustrating results. I don't want to start loosing hair over this.

June bonus items

I cannot get to the bonus pages for the June issue. I get this message in Safari ( relatively new iMac):

Safari can’t open the page “http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/sites/all/themes/common/magazine/mrh-2011-06-jun/bonus-extras”. The error is: “The operation couldn’t be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 303.)” (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork:303) Please choose Safari > Report Bugs to Apple, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
