Proto 2000 E8 Wheels

Can anyone tell me who makes replacement wheels for the HO scale Life Like Proto 2000 E8's ?

Jay Bee had a set of 12 half axles that they called #100 Proto "E".  I can find only a few sporadic offerings for these and that surprises me. NWSL apparently makes some too, but they are not easy to find either. These wheels are special because they are only 36" diameter.

What box wagons for an Athearn BigBon N Scale?

Hi everybody!

I´ve just bougth a BigBoy fron Athearn in N scale, I use to modell Spanish models (I´m from Spain) and the only I know of America´s railroad is what I read on ModelRailroader Magazine. Therefore I would like to know what 50 feet or 40 feet box wagons do you recomend me to buy and create a realistic composition.

Thank you in advance!!

NWSL loco wheels

I have been converting locomotives to North West Short Line code 88 wheelsets, but they don't offer them any more.

Does anybody else manufacture nickel silver diesel loco wheels  (40" and 42") in code 88?

Athearn Blue Box Locomotives

Where can a person pick up some parts for a couple of the old Athearn blue box locomotives. I have tried Athearn but haven't had any luck.

N scale: code 40 rail and wheels

Let's suppose that I am an N-scaler who wants to play around with hand laying track and let's further suppose that code 40 rail has caught my eye. What sort of headaches can I anticipate regarding wheels? Do wheels that meet the NMRA RP-25 spec run okay on code 40 track? It's easy enough to swap out trucks on rolling stock, but locos can be a bit more involved. Do you code 40 folks slave over locos to get them to ride the rails and not the ties?

backdating BL2 to single headlight

I'm backdating my Proto 2000 Bl2's and really need to find some custom finishing single headlight pieces to do the job properly, I've tried other methods but it doesn't look right....the only problem is that this part, CF#210 is no longer available and I'm told will not be in the future so if anyone knows a retailer that has some ( I need  to fit 4 locos) I'd really like to know!

Thanks!

Interstate

I am new to the forum.  I am trying to locate coal cars with the "Interstate" naming. I know this is like trying to find a needle in the haystack but they were once produced in HO scale.

Also, does anyone know of a source that would produce labels that I could put on cars and 2-8-0 steam engines ( HO Scale).

New Walther Woochip cars

Just got my new Walthers 60’ HO woodchip cars today. Thought I share a few pictures of them in case anyone else was thinking of getting some.  I got 2 in CN and 2 in WP.    I do like them and I’ll be getting more.

Walthers Gold Line HO wheel sets

I’ve been getting some of the Walthers 50’ bulkhead flats lately.  These aren’t bad cars, especially for the prices I’ve been getting them, but the wheel sets leave a lot to be desired.  I can actually place them on a 3% grade and they stay!  Has anyone fixed this problem with out replacing them?  If you replaced them did you do just the axles or the whole wheel set?  I just ordered some of their new woodchip gons and they come with the same wheel sets so I’ll have even more to do.

Dummies

Has any one in the market making "Dummies"(without power) Locomotives ? That way we can run double or triple units without sacrificing a "real" engine ? I remember in the old days they were different manufacturer doing this but I haven't been able to locate any of them recently. I've been looking especially for SD 40-2's and GP 40-2's ?
