Attached are three photos of my brass HO scale SP GS4. I purchased this locomotive from Paul Jansen in around 1969/1970. I may have ran twice on a test track around that time frame. It has never run since, and has been in storeage. The model was made by United Scale Models of Japan. There is no box. Note, the center drivers have no flanges.

My questions is this locomotive worth a restoration? Such as a new can motor, detailing, and painting? Is there a way of determining it's current value? Or is it best just leave it like it is, a museum piece perhaps?

I stumbled upon TrainCat quite by accident. They produce a variety of kits in etched brass for both HO and N scale including the SP steel C40-3 caboose, an upcoming kit for a wood C30-1 caboose, C30-4 and C30-6 bay window cabooses.

There's other stuff there also. I just got stuck drooling over the sudden opportunity to acquire a greater variety of prototypical SP cabooses.

Awhile back there was some discussion in another thread, (Rotary Dumper) about someone doing an article on Sergent Couplers.  I have been checking  Sergent Couplers out and would be interested in seeing an article.  I was wondering, is somebody putting something together for a future issue? 

I have an old N scale F7 Bachman diesel that has the two plastic driveshafts in it. One is broke and gone. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement, or should I just go with my original thought and make a new one from brass???

I really just want to save it and keep it running because it is my very first Nscale engine that I bought. It came with my first N scale train set that I bought more than twenty years ago.
