Deluxe Innovations Maxi Stacks vs. Athearn Husky Stack
Currently running a Deluxe Innovations Maxi Stack III set on my N-Scale layout. I have been extremly pleased with this set.
Currently looking at purchasing additional intermodal rolling stock and see where Athearn now has Husky Stack cars I have considered purchasing.
Looking for feedback on Athearns Husky Stacks. Do they run well, how do they compare with Deluxe Innovation's Maxi Stacks, Etc.....
Which Tank cars do I use?
So as I was setting up a few tank cars over the weekend to begin figuring out how to space my unloading platforms, it occured to me that I haven't yet got a firm handle on what kind of tank cars I need, exactly. I'm modeling N Scale and the modern era (mid 1990's through about 2008) and I've built a small refinery complex that would be taking crude oil and turning it into a variety of refined liquid (and perhaps solid) products. Obviously my ADM tank cars won't find a home here (corn syrup not being petrol based) but other then that I have to confess I have little to go on

Is Athearn's SP bay window caboose a C-40-4, or C-40-5?
Here are 2 Athearn cabooses compared to SP's C-40-4 bay window caboose.
Is Athearn's model based on the prototype's C-40-4 (as shown),
or SSW's/SP's C-40-5?
There are a few windows shown on the prototype that have been plugged.

Guys, sorry for any cross post, but more peoples involved more probability arise to have a start with an N scale kit.
I've no interest in this company, except ... I will love to have a new manufacturer for N scale quality kits.

Detailing advice
I'm embarking on another project that will count as a first for me - creating a (close match) prototype loco. Specifically I'm going to model the Central Vermont's 7917 in early 1956, an Alco S2.
I have an undecorated Atlas S2, and I will be converting it to DCC with Sound. I intend on detailing it to match, which means a scratch built equipment locker just in front of the cab among other things.
This was a black painted unit, so it makes my first attempt at painting achievable, even for me.
What I'd like advice on is the following.
Green Boilers of the Baldwin Locomotive Works
Thanks to everybody on the brass painting advice. I now have a different question about color. I have a model of Casper Lumber Co's # 7 Sampson from Sunset with a green boiler. It appears to be the same color as the green versions of various D&RGW K series Baldwins. After much research, I have learned this color was called Dark Olive Green by Baldwin. Try as I might, I have not been able to match it to any available green paint. The closest (I thought) was Southern Green (Floquil) but it was way too green. Any of you D&RGW fans out there kn
