I recently purchased and weathered a Genesis HO SD75i engine. I didn't even test it, the first thing I did was to install a Digitrax decoder. I tested it then but only on a straight test track and whenthat was done it went back on the workbench for weathering. When it was finished it went directly onto my layout.

I guess I should have tested it sooner, it derails on every corner. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Athearn tells me the truck or trucks are warped and all it will take to correct the problem is to twist it with my hands.

There are so many manufacturers of both steam and diesel locomotives, but which ones are really good running and worth purchasing? I don't want to buy something that is not going to be quality. I really need your advice as I am about to purchase some steam and diesel locomotives for my era 1956 layout.

I was admiring a photo of a nicely modeled boxcar in another thread when I noticed it was lettered for "Canadien National". I was pretty sure that should be "Canadian" so I looked it up on google. The official website seemed to be "Canadian" oriented.

Am I being my usual ignorant self or is either spelling of the railroad's name ok?

Coupler and Draft Gear Ramblings:

If this has been addressed somewhere else, my apologies, but why in the world does Intermountain glue the lids on their coupler boxes?  I don't have many problems popping them off and for the most part I can drill through and use a screw to reattach, but it can be tedious.  I think even Kadee does this, but usually no reason to replace their own couplers obviously.
