Flattening Resin parts
Hallo all freight car builders!
I know how to flatten wood (goo for Northeastern rolling stock kits :)) - but now I received 3 boxes of Westerfield resin kits, where the side walls and end walls of the box cars are not straight and flat. Do you have any trick to flatten these parts without risking to spoil them??
Thanks for any hint

Shark attack -- mounting a Tyco shell on a Bachmann chassis
Has anyone tried mounting a Tyco Sharknose shell onto a Bachmann Sharknose frame/drive? I have an old Johnson Wax set that I'd like to get resurrected, but the idea of trying to tune up the Tyco to come close to DCC seems to be a lost cause, and a Bachmann DCC-already drive seems like a much better idea -- if it fits.
Thanks in advance,

How to mount new coupler box?
Hi All, I want to change this boxcar (and about 5 of his best friends) from truck mounted couplers to body mounted, but not sure "how" I should do it... I'm looking at three choices, but if there is a better, 4th way, please let me know...
The green edge of the end of the boxcar overhangs the black underbody a little, so I need to make some sort of modification...
Can you identify this motor?
Hey Gang,
Today, I got another hot buy at a local train show. It was a large bag of parts and in the bag of parts were these motors:
I really can not tell what the flywheels are made out of but they are not brass, obviously.
There is no name on the side of the can, so I am thinking this is some sort of generic motor used by a loco manufacturer at some point.

Proto 2000 Gear Train Binding?
I recently purchased a Proto 2000 - Lifelike GP9 Limited Edition Phase III locomotive off of Ebay. This was a new in the box unit, that was undecorated. I bought this loco as a first for installing a DCC encoder in a DC loco. I also bought it a as first for learning how to airbrush a model. I got the DCC encoder installed, along with some custom LEDs for the number boards and the headlights. All the DCC, and the custom LEDS are working fine.

I need help drawing a goose
I need some help. I'm fair with Sketchup, but I'm pretty much limited to geometric shapes and mechanical things. I'm useless at freehand sculpting and organic shapes.
I need a goose, like the one below:

This was a tough build! The walkway stanchions required 52 solder joints, and there are 228 rivets applied one at a time. The car hauled 23000 gals of Phosphorus. The cars were in the MONX 23000-23023 series. Thanks for looking.
I uploaded 5 photos of the painted car. I hope you like it.
