Locos and rolling stock
Idea for modeling southern 630. Any thoughts?
I had the opportunity to run around the Southern 630 a couple years ago and learn all sorts of stuff about that gorgeous little engine, even got to fire her just a little bit. Ever since then one of my biggest goals has been to make a model of 630 since there's not a prototypical model available. I'm slowing thinking of how I want to pursue this and I've got what I think is a great idea but I want your opinion and ideas!
Make coal loads sparkle
Some people prefer coal loads with shiny bits that imitate hard anthracite coal. I make coal loads sparkle with Pan Pastels powder. Works great on tenders and revives dusty plastic coal loads.
Specifically, I use Pan Pastel 20014 – Pearl Medium – Black Coarse. The Coarse has more noticeable sparkly bits than the Pearl Black Fine. It costs about $7 for a small container in 2016, a dollar more than the matte black powder.
Blue prints of Erie L-1 camelback mallet?
I'm searching blue prints or good drawings of ERIE L-1 camelback mallet, here a picture of this steam engine. Construction of brake gear is of especially interest.
Whe knows persons, sources, links where I could ask for help?
Thanks to all beforehand for your help!
detailing coach interiors
I have the Roco model of the Kombiverkehr Rollende Landstrasse coach Model number 45474 DB-AG
I wish to fit interior lighting and fit passengers but before I do that I would like to paint the interior with some correct colours as the interior is only in a dark brown plastic, I have tried to find some detailed pictures of the interior but had no luck so far, if anyone could help with my search I would be most grateful.

How to keep handrails from falling off?
Whenever I try to handle my SW1500 the handrails fall out of the holes they are in, and I'm afraid that I'll break them because they are so flimsy. This happens even though I try to pick up the engine without touching the sides and I am usually successful in picking it up without touching them, but they still get moved around. Are there sturdier handrails I could put in? Should I try gluing them down?

Where to find these tank cars in HO...
I'd like to find these tank cars in HO:
http://www.railpictures.net/photo/501732/#remarks
Any suggestions? I'm a RTR guy, not interested in carving them out of a block of styrene or anything like that. Open box, place on track. A guy's got to know his limits.
BTW, this is a train on the tracks I'm modeling in the year that I'm modeling. Love that kind of thing, have to duplicate it as close as I can.

Diameter of phosphor bronze wire for wheel pickup?
Several people have used phosphor bronze spring wire for wheel pickup on steam drivers.
What is a useful diameter, neither too stiff or weak?
The long & short of it-48,000 vs 2225 gal tank cars
I photographed my 48,000 tank car, which is the largest production tank built in the USA, along with my 2225 gal car. It being one of the smallest. There were two larger tankers, but they were one offs. There is quite a contrast between the two!
Loco runs too fast speed step 1
Hey everyone I am trying to speed match my locos but I have found about 7 of them that just run too fast on speed step 1. I have decreased CV2 to 0 and they still go like a rocket. I read on another post that you could try and lower the CV5 and CV6 to a lower value. I have done this as well and still the same result. Its like there is no super slow speed and I can't figure out how to change it or even slow it down. I am using mainly Digitrax decoders with a couple Lenz thrown in as well.
