Track and electrical/DCC

need help powering my track

ok so i have a DC N scale track layout that sits on a 2x4 sheet of MDF that i picked up at home depot. the layout is fairly large, i should mention the track used is from the 60's-80s so its not DCC track i.e. only one engine at a time can run on the track. now onto my issue

Rob Paisley 2011 Grade Crossing PCB

I have been trying for a couple of weeks to get a hold him via email. They are not bouncing back so address must still be good. Has anybody know how to get hold of him in a different way. Also if any one has one of his boards that could take a photo of the back side it would be great. I have figure out most of the runs but there is a couple of areas that have me in a pickle.

JMRI for Chromebook?

Anyone know if JMRI (decoder pro/panel pro) supports the op system Chromebooks use?  I don't know anything about Chromebooks  but I'm told it's not Windows based or Mac based but I have a chance to get one cheap for the train room. I couldn't find anything on the JMRI site or the JMRI users group about it.

Thanks for any insight

Wiring for Peco Insulfrog Code 83 turnouts for single crossovers...

What is the correct wiring for Peco Code 83 Insulfrog turnouts for single crossovers. Do you put insulated rail joiners between the 2 facing turnouts? How do you then wire for feeders beyond the frogs when they are mated to each other? Probably making this harder than it is. I understand the method for sifdings and yard ladders. How is this wired? Thanks!

Some Thoughts About DCC Decoder Installation

In addition to Jason Miller’s excellent article in this month’s Running Extra, I’d like to add another avenue of shared expertise.  This weekend SoundTraxx announced their 8 function 21-pin DCC decoder and just recently ESU announced their new non-sound DCC Decoders.  I follow the YouTube and have watched decoder installations fairly critically.

need face to face help here.

for some reason i can not get my decoders to program, or keep there programing,

tried digitrax. ( both a dcs 51, and dcs210, ) with a digitrax pr-4, or a dcc specialties “powerpax”

not even any luck on jmri  keep getting programmer error. some locos would change the working address, others not.

mostly athearn stock factory dcc sound.( type of decoder?). one retro fit brass steam.

trying to stay with the digitrax brand. some will get the tsunami2 ( larger upgraded number?).

Peco code 100 track center spacing w/ large turnouts + wiring electrofrog + double slip

I seem to recall on some of Peco's literature that the HO code 100 large turnouts, and maybe other sizes allow for a minimum track center spacing in a yard at 2 3/16 inches.  I can't find the documentation anywhere.  Is 2 3/16 inches the recommended minimum track centers when making a yard ladder using Peco HO code 100 turnouts?
