20yo P2K GP7's vs DCC
Hi All:
I have a small fleet of 20 year old P2K GP7's that are awaiting decoders and paint/decals/weathering. I think most of them are represented by this photo of one of the mechanisms in my parts stash:
I have a 5 amp NCE Pro R/C system. At max there will be something like 6 or 7 engines running at once. Some of that number may consist of the above P2K powered chassis.
My question:
Micro engineering ladder system?
I'm really interested in the micro engineering ladder system but everywhere I look is either completely sold out or sold out of key parts. Is there any word on a new availability? Their website seems to give no info at all as to when if ever it will be available again. Thanksfor the help.

Let's play a game - Identify this decoder
Gang,
JMRI ( Decoder Pro) will take me just so far...
I know it is a Digitrax, but Decoder Pro gives me about 15 options for this thing. First, does anyone recognize it?
Second, is there a good way to identify this thing for future reference?
Thanks !
Setting up my test track onto my desktop
Hi,
My name is T.J. Purdy and I am a model railroader trying to convert from DC to DCC. I currently trying to connect my DCC test track to my computer ( desktop). I am using all Digitrax equipment. I have a DCS 51, a PR 3, a LNWI and two LNC 82 loconet cables. What program do I need to download onto my desktop and how do I hook up my test track to the computer so I can do some programming on my desktop? Can you please help me get converted to DCC? Thank you very much.
HO Bachmann GP7 w/Sound Value DCC?
I have one of those from a few years ago. Mechanically, the little engine appears to be quite capable. Sound wise, not bad a'tall. Visually, seems to be a great "start here" model. (Needs grab irons and lift rings, for example.)
Performance wise: I think it can do a lot better. The model is capable of having very good low speed creep, but the speed notch seeings seem quite coarse (For example, when decelerating it sort of stops rather abruptly at times.)
Please advise: with 3 x 4'x8' HO layout getting started
Well,
My wife has been telling me for the past 5 years that she really wished that I had model trains as a hobby. So we went to a model train store in our town and I found out that she was really the one that wanted to be a model railroader herself. So...
I am in the process of building three 4'x8' tables to be formed into a 16' x 12' "L" shape in our basement.
not working right.
well got a loco and track cleaner car running up and down and back and forth in the yard.
but the loco was set for default of 03, tried to set to the rd number (75). now nothing. not on 03 or 75. but the loco is making idling sound effects just sitting there. tried to "reset" but nothing.
digatrex dcs51, athern sd70M-2 genesis dcc with sound.
what did i mess up?
Atlas turnout rivet repair
Atlas turnout rivets sometimes fail through a shearing action that causes the rivet "head" to separate. If the turnout is in place it is often difficult, if not impossible, to remove without further damaging the turnout assembly. There are 1/16" pop rivets that would fit the tab/throwbar hole but I can't find a rivet tool smaller than 1/32". Anyone????

Shinohara switch ?
hey guys I just bought this on eBay and wondering if it’s DCC ready or will I need to modify it somehow to work right with my NCE system? I have some of those frog juicers I’m guessing I could hook up to it. Please help me out appreciate it

Novice to Arduino , but...…… it is amazing kit to start learning.
Thanks for listening......
