Benchwork and roadbed

Mainline through a TV cabinet ???
Gang,
I am looking for examples (pictures preferred) where someone built a mainline through a TV cabinet.
Basically, I am thinking about something that contain the flat screen TV, surround sound receiver, and all of the railroad related video stuff.
It seems like a very simple cabinet would work. If the layout is double decked, the lower deck could pass, unscenicked, behind the TV mount. The upper deck could complete the top of the cabinet and could possibly have scenery.
Anyone have any examples?

Source for wood N scale ties
I am in need of N scale wood ties for mainline track. (scale 8' 6") can anyone give me a source other than fast tracks?

Richlawn RR V1 - History of moving the return loop
This is old history from my previous layout where I ran across these pictures today and thought that someone might find it interesting. In this posting I'm moving my return loop from inside the alcove to outside of the room to be re-assembled. This was so that I could make room for my new industries in the alcove.
Fixing Roadbed Mistake
After I laid my roadbed I decided I wanted to superelevate my track. It would have been easier before I load the roadbed. My first attempt was by laying 1/4" masking tape along the curve and adding layers of masking tape for the superelevation. It looked like it was going to work fine. I came back the next day and found the masking tape had pulled away from the roadbed. I must have stretched the tape as I put it down and it shrunk overnight causing it to peel off.

Main line and sidings at different heights
Hi folks, I've been following MRH for a while (almost 2 years). I guess it's time to be more proactive, rather than watching quietly on the sidelines. :)
I'm building a new HO layout, and I want to have my sidings at a lower height than my main line. I can change my cork type to get a different height. However, how can I make smooth the height transition from the main to the siding?
If I just change it abruptly I'm afraid it'll look like a bump. Not to mention potential derailments. Any ideas on how to make it look good and functional?
Aluminum flashing for backdrop
Hi all, new layout builder here. I'm ready to install the backdrop on my layout this weekend. My plan was to simply use 1/8" hardboard or masonite screwed to the upright mounting brackets (see picture below). I was just going to paint it blue and call it good enough, but I was tooling around Joe Atkinson's blog and noticed he used aluminum flashing for the backdrop on his IAIS layout. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this material.
Back drop or fascia question
As a sign/shirt maker and a model railroad hobbyist. I have a question. When I built my workbench for building a sign or weeding vinyl to go on a sign or just for decals I put a sheet of 1/8" expanded PVC plastic on the top for a working surface.
sealing extruded foam
What is the best way to seal extruded foam mountains so they can be landscaped?
HO ELEVATING THE ROAD BED FROM A FLAT SURFACE
what is the best way to go from a flat surface to a raised road bed?
Looking for advice--what should I use for a surface to put everything on?
On track…
I have a track plan, track, switches, roadbed, a locomotive, a few cars and a function for the first part of the North Central’s standard guage portion. What I don’t have is the surface on which to place it all.
