Benchwork and roadbed

A Possible Short Circuit on Layout Track

I know this is going to be sort of long winded, but I need to explain what I'm trying to accomplish with my layout. So PLEASE accept my apologies, and bear with me. I finally have gotten most of my track layout anchored down. My layout consists of a main layout bench, plus an upper level bench above that. My intention is to have a continuous loop completely around the room walls but still have a reversing situation without having to manually pick the engine up and move it to the opposite end of the rolling stock to go in the opposite direction.

Prototype examples of bridges on a grade?

Hi all, I am going to be installing some bridges on my  N scale layout soon and wanted to know if is acceptable to put a truss and/or girder bridge on a 2% grade, or is that just not done.

Thanks, Mike

Introducing the Here N There RR

I guess it's time to introduce mu N scale RR under construction. It goes from "Up Here" to "Down There" It/s in a 9' X 12' room. The equipment will be mostly from the North East. It will be bi-level around the wall shelf type.

First I built the helix / nolex.

Foldable legs on a module

I have built a few modules that will go in my garage, but I need to build some foldable legs that are sturdy to take abuse of taking them up and down to get the cars in.

Does someone have a diagram that you can you can post?

Joining plywood beams

I don't seem to be able to add to the 'Joining plywood' thread, so here's my foolproof method, simply drill and insert 2 hardwood dowels for the ends of your drywall screws to cut into.....when all glue is dry etc, trim 'em off!

B&O/PC Cincinnati West - Construction

Welcome to the Cincinnati West thread!  Thanks for stopping by. The photos are hosted here on MRH, so this thread will remain intact as long as MRH exists.     - Randy

I thought it might be nice to add a sort of index to this post since it has grown rather large.  - Randy
