Benchwork and roadbed

Curved Benchwork Question (help)

I am all moved into my new home and planning a new layout that will curve and flow like the C&O along the new river. My question is can someone send examples (photos) how to make the benchwork so it is curved where the facia attaches. I will be starting a L shape and adding to the layout later and would like to have some curves that follow the benchwork.

Progress on my layout

Here are a few photos of what I have done on my layout over the last few weeks. It's not much but I've spent alot of time thinking and planning.

This is a phot of the front and left walls with the clouds I painted on them. You can also see the Woodland Scenics modules and stands. In the center you'll see a piece that I made myself from bass that measures 12 inches by 18 inches.

real photo backdrops

Has anyone ever experimented with using real photos for backdrops. Like a panoramic view of an area? I am thinking of possibly using  photos as a backdrop for my modern cajon pass portion on my layout. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My Revised Benchwork Plan

I've been talking about the layout I am building in a 15 foot x 12 foot 3 inch room in my basement for a while now. I've even shown photos of the painted room but I haven't shown anyone my benchwork plan. So here it is. Feel free to comment and offer suggestions. I'll listen to anything you have to say.

Building roadbed with PVC pipe.

There was a article in Model Railroader many years ago about a guy that used PVC pipe for roadbed. He used 2 pipes side by side and attached them to risers with screws thru the pipes. He glued small pieces of wood between the pipes. He joined the pipes to each other with wood plugs inside the pipes. I wonder if someone ever tried this method?

H-Brace and Shelf Modules Versus Traditional L-Girder Benchwork

I'm working on a new layout right now from the ground up as a move has facilitated this necessary transition.  This new layout is in a truely temporary place, a storage unit, and so I am trully working on enforcing the modular concept this time around.  This has been very difficult because past layouts started out with modular intentions but quickly became solid one piece fixtures to better facilitate overall layout integrity.
