Fuel storage

I am looking for ideals and pictures of old tanker cars turned into fuel storage in railroad facilities. I seen a couple examples on the net a while back but I haven't had any luck finding the pictures again. Should have saved them when I had the chance.

Yes, You Can Build Models

The Armchair just got a turbo.  Procrastination be damned, full speed ahead!  Here in Yuma, Arizona, summer is when we don't get out too much and I am excited to announce a new endeavor for me, producing on-line model kits with complete step by step instructions using full size templates to fabricate required details.  I will be needing some Beta test builders in the next weeks so keep an eye on the blog for frequent updates.

Virtual Railroading...A Shunting Puzzle

I never thought I'd live to see the day that I would be playing a computer game. They never appealed to me.

Then I stumbled onto this shunting (switching) puzzle-game and I'm hooked. (It helps if you like complex switching operations.)

The game looks like it's designed for 5-year old kids, but once I started playing it and moving up to higher levels, these started turning into switching puzzles that you really have to think about. And it's giving me some good insights about better switching strategy.

Engine terminal redo.

Started redoing my engine terminal. First thing was to build a sanding rack. Still has to be painted, decal and weathered. Next is to redo the coaling tower and find a more modern water tower.

Ever see a trackplan you can't get out of your head?

I have and it's one that goes totally against my givens and druthers  but it's been stuck in the back of my mind for days while I've been demolishing my old layout and  considering what I want to do in the future.  A lot of you remember stein jr. I'm sure.  I saw a plan on his site called Potosi Mo. way back when and remembered liking it at the time.  Lately with all my mental gyrations about the original Gorre and Daphetid and the Gunstump and Snowshoe plans that plan keeps creeping in as well.  Here's the link....
