My first module - A new home

It has been a long time since posting.

I've moved country and moved houses twice.

The module is now in it's permanent home, where I can start to expand the layout with the next few modules.

This is how far I had progressed before leaving San Francisco.

A Place I Will Likely Not Get To...

So...the comparing of the various options make it obvious that the Option 2 site is the only one even remotely able to suggest what the photos sent in show.  But a bit much of a project for the current budget both in time and resources.  But more interested than ever.  Send more please!  Was there a siding between the two tunnels?

Is (prototype) Model Railroading Fun?

Ever since I picked up my first issue of Model Railroader (January, 1983), the motto "Model Railroading is Fun!" has been emblazoned somewhere at the top of the front cover. Model railroading is "The World's Greatest Hobby" (another motto) - and for good reason: Arguably no other hobby offers as diverse a range of opportunities to learn & practice different skills. From engineering/planning, to carpentry, electrical work & electronics, painting, sculpture, and of course modeling, model railroading really has it all.

Making JMRI/PanelPro Programming Easier...

When your programming signal logic, blocks & configuring turnouts in PanelPro, it can become a real pain going between the layout & dispatch office to check, especially running one up.

Help with the facia

I'm looking for some idea on how to handle structure that meet the facia. I'm finally starting to add structures to the layout and trying to decide what might look good.

Middlebury VT new tunnel

Middlebury, VT has a new rail tunnel under construction fabricated from precast concrete.  This could be a unique scene to model.   Clearances in the new tunnel accomodate new equipment and the town green is improved.
