Sitting around all day long is not for me and TV got old real quick.

Had an emergency appendicitis surgery last week,  then during the CTI the Doctors found a large renal mass on my left kidney. Setting up all my modeling areas before that 2nd surgery to remove that large mass,  This way I can come back and maybe do a little modeling after the surgery.  I might work on some ETT for the railroad if modelings is out of the question.

Working on stuff

Starting to bake in a simple Ops Handout, but make it visually fun to use.  I will also have what I call the plain text version on a 3x5 card too..

On the back will be a Diagram of the layout and a few other useful tools like how to use the NCE Cabs etc.

When Folded for the Operators it looks like this.

Steve, B&S RR ver. 2

Ok from what you gave me,  Your are building this in the 3rd bay of a 3 car garage.  Door to house on the right and another door and W/H will be on the south wall. The Garage door is on the left.  I looked at your plan with the "E" shaped bench work.  Not a good use of space, tight quarters etc.  So let start to build up a base idea and work from that point.

The stud wall that will form the main layout room will be built with 2x4 on 16" centers.

George Sinos: call out

Working on fleshing this out,  22.5" x 99"  wall along back and right edge.  Curve is access to main layout.

Atlas code 80 track and customline turnouts.

Goal is to start building this in around 3 to 4 months

The Story of Chuck Baker and his River Valley Railroad

The Story of Chuck Baker and his River Valley Railroad. Starts a little slow but it is a great watch and insight into how a railroad is done.

Well this will be a full time Job, More to come.

Well this will be a full time Job, More to come. I will be working hard on this for some time.

OK, time to get back to work.  If I start making trees now I will be set for the forest I plan to build in years to come.

I think I will give this a go and post how it went.

Enterprise Yard will soon be the next project (After 3 year delay)

Salt River Valley Yard/Crew Change point (Visible Staging) is getting close to being operational.

Next project is the endpoint ATSF yard that will be know as Enterprise Yard.

Seeing a nice layout that only is block away from me tonight then tearing it out.

Will be going over to a friends house tonight, getting to see his layout for the very 1st time!  His layout has been a fairly well known operations layout based on the (NYC?) and has been part of many events including Opsig.Org operations events.  I we have shared pictures but I never have his layout in real life.  Tonight is the night.

Southern Pacific RDC operations and Model? Help needed?

I'm looking into the possible addition of a SP RDC operation on my layout.  My layout is based in the Mid southern region of Arizona and from what I do know or believe Arizona never had any RDC operations within the state of Arizona.  I'm also looking for an appropriate model or stand in for this RDC unit or units.  Any ideas?  I model in "N" scale.

An interesting perspective.
