Dolores Flour Mill completed - and dry transfer lettering
I completed the build of my Dolores flour mill, and added lettering using dry transfers (my first attempt with those).

Christmas update, and prototype structure building
It's been forever, but I have finally updated my blog with a bunch of photos of recent structure work, and an operating session earlier this year.
I'll post a few of the photos in the first comment (below), but for details and lots more photos, go to my blog here:

Ballast experiments
There's no good conclusions or answers here, but if you'd like to see all the attempts I made in finding the 'right' ballast for my beat-up, run-down, never-had-funding-for-actual-ballast Rio Grande Southern trackwork, read on:

I hope to have a followup post with what I did decide to finally use. Um, once I figure that out!
Operations - created an overview map & schematic
I'm getting ready to start some 'test' op sessions, and have been creating documentation to help guests quickly understand both the layout and the historical / prototype context I'm trying to recreate.
So, I created a few 'overview' sheets and posted them around the layout. What do you think?
RgsRR.info - it's back!!
The old address of 'rgsrr.info' is working again, and a second URL actually works as well - http://www.rgsrr.com
Either will get you to the site.
If any of you were using, or have links on your sites to the old 'base' address of 'rgsrr.home.comcast.net' - please update it to 'rgsrr.info'. Thanks!!!
RGSrr.info site moving - new URL soon!
I know a lot of you have found my RGS site useful. Comcast has thoughtfully discontinued all of their website support, so I'm moving to a new server.
Eventually, both rgsrr.info and the (new!) rgsrr.com will work and get you to the site, but for the moment it seems the Comcast-hosted site is down.
I hope to have my site back up this week.
Thanks everyone!!!
Quincy and Torch Lake RR - remains
This isn't related to the RGS, but it's a cool narrow gauge railroad in Michigan copper mining country, and there's a lot of remains. Photos and a few details in my blog:

Updates and photos - yards, turntable install, outbuildings
It's been ages since I updated my blog, but I did a quick update with just a few photos of recent work. Details and lots of photos here:

And some stock cars...
And here's a few of about 15 Proto2k stock cars I built and modified to look kinda like D&RG or RGS cars (although these are std-guage)
Some structure work
It's been a while since I posted, but I have been busy, mostly at the workbench, and mostly w/ structures. Here's some recent ones.
