National Train Day

Today was National Train Day so I grabbed My camera and headed down to Boston's South Station Where they had station tours and an Acela train on display...

Then I went up to Salem New Hampshire and took this pic of the old depot. Which was restored in 2011 and is now the Salem Chamber of commerce and a museum. It wasn't open when I was there.

Then it was a few miles north to Windham New Hampshire to photograph the Windham Junction depot and a B&M caboose that is on display there.

and then it was up the road to Derry New Hampshire to shoot the Derry Depot.

That was the end of my outing as I had to go back to Boston to Logan airport to pick up My Girlfriend.

Oh I also took this shot at South Station of an Amtrak  cruiser..

We need an Acela route on the West Coast

Write your Pols and tell 'em.

If you could travel on business fast and in comfort there and back between the nearest two city centers easily in the same day, the Seattle-San Francisco-LA-San Diego Corridor would become an economic powerhouse equal to any part of China.

Andy, It is on the way ...

It may take some time, but there has been some progress. Maybe in 8 to 10 years from now with the initial operations. I have been looking at it every few weeks, but we need popular support to prod it on.
