Roadbed

Got my subroadbed finished and have moved onto laying down my cork roadbed. I have laid out some track just to see how it will look, also the big white sheets are foundations for my depot and warehouse.

Hi, new to commenting after long break, keep up the good work in building your layout. I have been into it for many years, first with 'N' scale, and now my fingers are older and less sensitive now into 'HO'. My clubs have always used cork, but personally, with my latest layout build I have used 19mm MDF as a base and laid the track directly onto it.

I find it quicker and easier as the layout is mostly yards with track centres 60mm apart. (oops sorry you still use inches in USA), so I just pin it down (MDF much softer for pinning) and then ballast and scenics applied to hold the track down. I do not have problems with noise at all.
