Do you cut the iphone4 speaker to fit the location in the locomotive ? It is fairly long, but thickness and width are great size. Thanks Zeke

Preferred Orientation of these speakers?
@Bill
Is there a preferred orientation to install these 'cell phone speakers' ? I've seen some discussion of them and their 'slots' of sound dispersion, but I've not seen much (if any) talk of preferred installation orientation??

Preferred Orientation
In my experiance, as long as the sound port is not blocked, you're good to go.
It helps if the sound port is pointed toward and opening in the shell or underside too.

iphone 4 speaker
sorry to be vague but I attended a clinic on using iphone 4 speakers in your locos at, if my memory servs me correct, the Prototype Modelers sig (NMRA) in New Jersey last spring. Cannot remember right now the woman's name but she was very knowledgeable -- worked with a DCC outfit from New England. Do an internet search on this and maybe her name will pop up. She told us you CAN cut off the long part of the speaker housing without a problem. She demoed the speakers in several locos .. and they did, indeed sound grate. But you can cut off the arm evidently. I bought 5 for $10 that day but have not yet used them. Hope this helps a bit.
