Trackwork For Dummies - Using PCB Ties To Modify Commercial Turnouts

Hey everyone, back again with another video. I don't think this turned out too bad, especially for the first time. Might turn this into a modeling basics how-too series, but we'll see. Anyways, as always thanks for watching and God Bless!

Layout Update 38 (Better late than never I reckon!)

Hey everyone, here the link to the latest layout update video. Sorry, I haven't gotten around to it sooner, but this should give you an idea what's up. And yes, you'll notice in the update the short in my Spectrum 2-6-6-2 is fixed. I took photos of the rest of the process, so I'll get those up eventually. Anyways, thanks for watching and a late Merry CHRIST-mas!!!

Spectrum 2-6-6-2 short.

I need some help guys, I'm really frustrated here. I've got a Spectrum 2-6-6-2 that's giving me intermittent short. I've already had a friend hardwire a Digitrax sound chip inside and replaced the circuit board inside the locomotive with the micro-connectors from Micro-Mark.

Near as I can tell, the short only seems to happen with tight curves when the rear truck has moved over to the left far enough. Is there an exposed piece of metal that I'm missing, do I just need to replace the lead wires in the truck?

In Defense of Car Kits - Give 'Em Some Weathering and They're Fine

If I lived in a perfect world, my freight car fleet would be nothing but the good stuff. You know what I'm talking about. Factory assembled Intermountain, Kadee, Bowser, Titchy Train Group, you get the drift. But alas, I don't. And on top of that, (1) I'm a College Student, and (2) budget. So that leaves me with good old Blue Box, Accurail, and Roundhouse cars. But wait, you can't disguise all that molded on detail under weathering!

Building Barb's Bungalow (Part 1)

Hey everyone, thought I would show the progress on my Atlas Barb's Bungalow kit. The plan for this is to eventually have a full interior and lighting, but in the meantime, the plan is to do the exterior walls and leave the roof removable both for the future interior/lighting and so I can show it off when it's finished.

The Hocking Valley - proto-freelancing a unique 50's coal hauler. Big steam, coal, and plenty of overhead trafic. (Part 2 of 3)

Alright, now that we have a very condensed version of the Hocking's history, let's have a look at where I've deviated a bit to set up my alternate history.

First off, there were actually a couple comments on the last post that weren't that far off, I've pasted them below

Alright, everyone since this is my first post, I'll start off with some prototype information.
