The BNML - Introduction

The BNSF Manitoba Limited (BNML) is a BNSF Line from Emerson Manitoba to Winnipeg. As far as I know, it is the only BNSF owned line located fully within Canada.

WP Caboose ladder/paint

Hello all. My first post here.

I'm planning on eventually building a layout based on the Western Pacific. In the interest of getting rolling stock done, I've started building a couple of cabooses. They are old Roundhouse kits of the exterior braced ones rebuilt from box cars. But the kits come with straight ladders, not the prototypical ones that included the curved connection to the roof at the top. They look like this:

What is the average lifespan of a railroad car?

Can anyone tell me what the average lifespan of the different types of railroad cars are?

E.g. Boxcars, Tankers, Hoppers etc..

PROTOTYPE MOVEMENTS

good morning to all

  i have a question about prototypical movements... is it prototypical to push 7-10 cars from the industry sidings back to the yard, about 7 prototypical miles..????? indecision

BNSF Railway

Looks like BNSF is going natrual, LNG that is. Time to model some LNG tank cars.
