Modeling general discussion

What do you want?
Let me rephrase that question.
What is it you want and expect to get from your current layout? Are you a scenery freak for whom operation is a tiresome detail? Are you a proto ops guy for whom scenery is nice but not optional? Is the railroad for you only or for a small (or large) group of friends? Is it complex or simple? Or are you doing it as a project with your kids (or even spouse!)?
Lot of N-scale equipment for sale!
20 October 2008 update: photos of the Digitrax equipment, locomotives and rolling stock are now on the website- take a look and make an offer!
My father died five years ago and left me with an overwhelming amount of n-scale goodies. There is a 4x8 table started with lots of Digitrax equipment, some buildings, rolling stock and an eclectic mix of steam, electric and diesel locomotives.

Loading PDFs in acrobat vs browser
Hi,
In another thread I had mentioned I had changed the properties PDFs to not load in a browser. I un-checked the "load in browser" option in acrobat reader to do this.
However, I have observed that it works much better on my home PC then it does on my work PC.

Carpeting the train room
This morning I watched the most recent segment of Cody's Office on the MR amagzuine site. There has been a major carpet renewal at Kalmbach's offices and this morning's segment featured an illustration of how 2 x 2 carpet segments for laid on the floor after it had been sealed by some yellow stuff. I don't know what this product is called nor do I know where to find it but it looks like something that would be perfect for the average train room.

N sale (c omited)
