Taking it on the road, again

Good morning all,

Last week, a group of modular minded modelers gathered for a 3 day "invitational" event in SE Indiana. Pictures and video link to follow.

Thanks in advance for looking!

O Scale, 2 rail, Steel Mill Build

O scale, 2 rail guys don't get as much recognition on this forum as HO scale.
And O-scale doesn't have aproduction kit for a steel mill that I know of?

I was searching for a related steel subject, and ran across this construction sequence. This fellow does a pretty nice job.

Control wiring ideas for a double slip switch

I have just completed scratch building, well, I used Fast Tracks fixtures actually, three double slip switches for the throat of my passenger terminal. I am looking for ideas of controlling them remotely. Electronics are by far my weak spot. I can follow instructions if clear, but designing is outside my ability. I do know I can control a double slip switch with two individual toggles controlling each Tortoise, two of which are needed for each double slip, thereby requiring two actions each time an operator uses each double slip.

MV Products - are they still around?

Their web site has said "need to update" for quite a while. There are various of their products on EBay, but almost nobody else has more than one or two. It kind of feels like they've disappeared. Anyone know?

If they're gone, are there any similar products?

Weekly Photo Fun - Mar 14-20, 2021

It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.  There were a few late-comers in last week's post.  Check them out, then come back here afterward.

What new printer should I buy?

Right now I don't have a printer, I've gotten along the last 4 years without one by going to Office Depot or begging my condo admin office to print something for me when I occasionally needed paperwork printed.

But looking ahead, I hope "real soon now" to get started on my model railway, and eventually I might want to print some things for that. Not backdrops, but maybe stuff for making structures?

Which is more portable? 4x6 vs. 2x8

Which size is more portable/transportable? A 2x8, or a 4x6?

Which size is easier to move?

I'm trying to decide what size my future layout should be.
